(Review of the Hall not the accommodation) Good place for a day out, not too expensive to enter, friendly service, and more importantly an impressive historic set of buildings with classic Pugin-designed interiors. The complex is not the oldest at 'only' 200 years old, but the multiple chapels in particular are splendid ornate works of art. There are a few other buildings you can visit or look at from the outside, and an ornamental garden. Parking is free. Try to book onto the free guided tour, we didn't know it existed and just missed it!

Ushaw hall is a beautiful place with gorgeous gardens. We visited here for a "wedding walk event". There were 70 wedding gowns on mannequins to view in the chapel and then a live show with models wearing brides dresses which were up to 144 years old. It was very interesting. The only criticism I have is that as it was an early evening event the Hall could have provided food to buy just prior to the live show.

Went to see wedding dresses through 100 years. But also the gardens. Did not know it had an autonomy exhibition which was good. Interesting architecture inside. Has a cafe. This is not a hotel although they might do bed and breakfast.

We stayed here one night on our journey to Scotland. Very friendly staff. We had a room for a wheelchair guest, with two separate comfortable beds. The room was very spacious and the (bathroom) facilities were placed low. Supports were also available where necessary. Breakfast was sufficient. The building and gardens are also definitely worth a visit!
