It was great, very responsive to my needs and reduced the room size when fewer people signed up than hoped for. Thank you, your help was much appreciated

The Angel is a lovely old hotel in the centre of Cardiff. The staff were very welcoming and friendly giving the hotel a relaxed feel where guests can relax and enjoy their stay. My room was very big although a little dated. That said, it was very clean. The bed was comfortable with good pillows. I slept well and would stay again.

We had the great pleasure of being assisted by Joey the majority of our stay. He was absolutely lovely, very polite, very cheerful and so helpful. On our checkout day, the bath randomly started bubbling up out of the plug however reception were very quick to send someone up to look at it. The grand staircase and chandeliers were gorgeous.

A charming Victorian hotel in a very good location. Almost opposite Cardiff Castle and the Principality Stadium is virtually opposite. The thing that let it down for me was the breakfast. Not a huge buffet selection for the size of the hotel, but to be fair I stayed on a week day so maybe it was because of the number of guests they had. That aside, the quality of the breakfast wasn't brilliant. Let it down a little in my opinion.

Dates and in need to a refresh in both service and looks. The giant hair in my breakfast was the cherry on the cake but the reception is messy, the common areas make Premier Inn look design lead and the room was a symphony of beige with the dated pink bathroom being the only exception. Opening the window revealed the horrible state of the exterior paint, flakes and peeling. The bathroom door handle has grime caked into it as did the non functional mirror lamp. It just felt like it was quietly all rotting away. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious. That in a way makes it worse. The management have decided to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory with a building that decorated and respected properly would be stunning. Instead they show no imagination and I suspect from the reaction to me pointing out the huge black hair in my food, that they don’t care about hygiene full stop. What a shame. Responding to me to thank me for pointing this out is just strange, surely they have noticed the state of the rooms, bland decor and peeling paint themselves?

Centrally located hotel, friendly reception, the hotel could do with some modernisation in my opinion, as it’s looking a bit aged and tired. My room was clean and the bed was comfy. Couldn’t comment on anything else about the hotel in terms of facilities or dining as I never used them. Oh… a top tip: keep your window closed if you have a courtyard view as the seagulls don’t half make a racket very early morning!
