Bristol’s flagship museum has been designed to retain the character of the former 1950’s transit shed but with the addition of purpose-built facilities, lighting and AV equipment. Our flexible Harbour View and Waterside Suites take pride of place on the top floor of the Museum with access to the fantastic rooftop terrace. In addition to this our Studios offer a more informal environment for your events, perfect for smaller meetings or syndicate space. Along with our spacious foyers, all of our meeting spaces offer lots of natural daylight and feature spectacular panoramic views over the harbour and cityscape offering your guests the best view in Bristol!

September 2024Lovely museum showcasing Bristol through the ages and its contribution to industry. I was fortunate enough to go on a behind the scenes tour of exhibits and collections of items that couldn't go on display. In the end, this took up most of the time spent at the M Shed because the volunteer was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

July 2024A refreshing take on a city museum. I've never visited a city museum which gave the perspective of locals of all the different neighbourhoods, that was interesting, particularly the old video from Knowles West. The Colston statue and history of slavery was probably the most interesting & moving exhibition pieces. The flow of the museum had a loose structure with arrows but since there were a lot of related but separate stories/pieces it was easy to walk-about as you pleased. This museum was free amazingly but they graciously accept donations. There is a terrace you can view the harbour, which was great on the weekend of the Harbour Festival.

September 2024So surprised when museum / galleries like this are free entry. The layout is fantastic and some of the things you can see are amazing. Take the whole family, come on your own, go on a date, this is the perfect place for a day trip in the city.

September 2024If I am honest, I only really went to see the Colston statue as it is an important piece of history. There wasn't much more of interest to me personally, I feel like it would make an excellent day trip for a school class or locals but I could not find a huge amount to engage with. The facilities are nice though and it is nicely located along the river with lovely views. For free entry I can't really grumble.
