One of the most exotically beautiful buildings in the British Isles, the Royal Pavilion is the magnificent former seaside residence of King George IV. Decorated in the elaborate Chinese taste, with a dramatic Indian exterior, this Regency party palace was built by a King who wanted to impress.

The lavish interiors and grand scale are testament to this. The State Rooms available for hire include the opulent Banqueting room, including gold dragon chandelier, and the stunning Music Room, designed to look like the inside of a Chinese lady's jewellery box.

We also have George IV's surprisingly beautiful Great Kitchen available, where the King himself was rumored to eat Christmas lunch. Or if you require something a little smaller we have three more intimate, but just as richly decorated rooms to choose from that are not open to the public.

We work closely with several approved caterers (list below), who are very familiar with the venue, and can also provide recommendations for quality AV suppliers, entertainment, florists and photographers. Classical string trios, harpists and jazz bands work very well in the venue, and we have hosted traditional Regency dance classes for some events which proved very popular.

As a venue for your event, the Royal Pavilion is a truly unique and historic setting like no other.

Ideal for an intimate dinner, glamourous lunch or stylish meeting, the Red Drawing Room is a sumptuous and versatile space not open to the public. This room retains it's gorgeous original features, including cast iron palm tree pillars, as well as it's original dragon wallpaper. The Red Drawing Room also benefits from large windows and it's own private entrance.

This space is also one of two at the Royal Pavilion that are licensed for weddings & civil ceremonies. The Red Drawing Room provides a beautiful room for a smaller ceremony within an iconic Royal palace.
All civil ceremonies are performed by the Brighton & Hove Register Office and an additional fee is payable directly to them for this service.

Despite visiting Brighton countless times I had never visited here before now. So was very glad to finally get the opportunity to visit. There is only one word for the pavilion, opulence! Every single detail is some of the most elegant and grand work you may have seen. As you visited on a weekday I felt it was quiet enough to be able to walk around at my own pace, and to take in all the sights without feeling I was in anyone's way. The gardens are beautiful too and the perfect place to relax in the sun.

It’s a 200 year+ Regency Palace. The palace mixed regency grandeur with Indian architecture ‘the onion 🧅 dome’ and Chinese inspired interiors. It’s fascinating as I am Chinese. I love the Music Room most with beautiful Chinese paintings on red wall. 🤩 Also the bamboo staircase were just so elegant. 🧡 Fascinating to learn the staffing structure in a royal household. Great place to visit. 👍👍

Very interesting visit. The whole inside has been carefully preserved and looked after. Would recommend for a visit to anyone who loves history and art. Also, do get the audioguide as it helps to learn of the history of each room

One of the main points of interest in Brighton, perhaps even the most interesting. A palace with a beautiful and at the same time unusual architecture for this area of the world. The interiors are richly ornamented, some of them look exceptional. On the outside, rehabilitation works are still underway, a lot of scaffolding affecting (for a while) the beauty of the building. Not very crowded at opening time, during the week. The ticket, quite expensive, 19 pounds...
