I was staying Bank Holiday Monday evening and it was a work visit. This is great value. About £70 for the room, 3 course dinner for £40 and had the most expensive things on the menu. The menu was very limited, it was also focused on things that Matlock Bath does in spadefulls like Fish n chips, burgers, pie n mash. I had the one choice of steak which was cooked good. The Cheese Board was not so good, the blue cheese was slices for the burgers as was the cheddar. Room was a good size and clean with a view over the pool. The swimming stops at 6pm for some reason so I arrived too late to try it out but it looks OK. No fruit juice at breakfast so I was offered orange squash! As I said good value, but would be nice to be able to get some nice touches even if they come at an extra cost but there were none.

Came here for an overnight stay for my birthday. We have tried on several occasions for a reservation but it has always been fully booked which we thought was a good sign. Unfortunately the hotel is in need of a great amount of money spending on it. We were told our room was in the garden/pool annex with its own balcony and parking. It was a real disappointment as it looked like a 1960"s chalet from Skegness Miners Camp. The room was of a good size but everything inside was scratched and tired. The room was fusty smelling also. On a good note bedding was clean, staff friendly and breakfast was good. The location is excellent and the price we paid was reasonable. But we would not return.
