My Place Cafe

They have this chain in the Netherlands and I was tickled to find it also existed in London. Two locations in London actually and in close proximity to each other. While the interior of both looked very avocado-driven, we ended up going to this Convent Gardens location because we were going to the Prince of Wales theater after dinner. All the drinks were 50% during happy hour (long reasonable hours for this). I got two of their signature Avo drinks but I really wanted to try all four. The Avo Bellini was light and refreshing as expected, but the avocado marmalade was a bit too light for me. I wanted to be hit with a wham of avocado flavor so they recommended the Avo Daquiri which they said was a polarizing drink among the customers. I loved it. The guacamole was such a funky touch. The Avo Margarita and Guaca Mary sounded promising as well, even though the Guaca Mary has no celery or tomato juice, which is a bummer because that would make it taste "pretty healthy". We got the avocado fun burger with the beet patty instead of the one with the beef patty because if you are going healthy, best to go all out. I wasn't a biggest fan of this one even though the concept is cute. The beet patty wasn't impressive. Most of the beet patties I've had you could specify up to 5 degrees of rareness even though the "blood" is just beet juice. The salamango poke bowl, however, was divine. They also give you cute avocado stickers with the bill. I am still trying to figure out what to do with them.

In the middle of London s theatre scene, this little place offered really yummy alternative from the usual mass produced food on offer. It was very cleverly presented and mine was really delicious and so was the other meal. Obviously it is very avocado based but all the other ingredients were fresh and tasty. I will go back and would recommend for something much nicer than the usual stuff offered.

Wonderful experience and delicious food! Great presentation and value for money. All 7 people in our party were equally as impressed - not a single drink or food item didn’t hit the mark. Will be back!
