Slices of pizza cut from a giant, 22-inch pie do the business at this New York-style outfit, a mini-chain in the making from the people behind Dalston Superstore. The pizzas are all displayed behind a glass counter in the narrow room, whose colourful square tiles arranged in geometric patterns make you feel like you’ve stepped into an 80s arcade game. Toppings, however, are bang up to date, and there are more than a dozen combinations – from rosemary-salted leeks with broccoli, Stilton, Pecorino, chipotle sauce and fior di latte to ‘white’ (tomato-free) pizzas topped with crisped chicken skin, confit garlic and squash, plus site-specific specials. To drink, choose from various bottled craft beers or pick a signature frozen Margarita fresh from the Slushie machine. At the Dalston branch, you can also head down to the basement bar for a full menu of gloriously retro cocktails.

Voodoo Ray's has consistently been among the top pizza I've ever had, even coming from NYC (this is an NYC-style pizza)! It's unbelievable sometimes how good it is – both their vegetarian and meat options (I don't believe I've tried the vegan). The interior is cozy yet lively, and the outdoor space is always teeming with people. The service has always been friendly as well and the wait time reasonable, about 10 minutes for a 12" pizza.

Took a group of 5, two vegans, two veggies and a meat eater here. Pizzas were really filling and tasty. Great for people watching by the windows as well. Pic is a Queen Vegan pizza.

This was recommended to us while staying in Peckham but it was one of the worst pizzas I have ever had and that incudes supermarket frozen pizzas! The base was completely wrong, very chewy. I am hoping it was a mistake rather than the normal, please get in touch if you want me to retry and can then amend review as feel bad but it's the first time in a long time I haven't finished my dinner!

Beware, the "gluten free" Pizzas are not gluten free as they are advertised. They roll the dough on regular wheat flour where they prepare all the Pizzas and make no special preparations for people who suffer from Coeliac disease. If this is the case, what's the point in offering a supposed gluten free option? Update: I am not sure if you can respond to the response for a review, so, to the owner: I should clarify that this is what the person on the till told me when I went to order. She said that they would be prepared on the same surface as the other pizzas and cooked in a tray that the other pizzas were cooked in so they were likely to also contain wheat flour. She gestured to the counter that the pizzas were prepared on to demonstrate the flour coverage. I didn't see this happening but I was advised to order sides instead (although these were not labeled as GF either).
