A lavish, new boutique hotel in the heart of Holborn. L'oscar is a turn-of-the-century architectural gem, now extravagantly restored by world-leading decorateur, Jacques Garcia and L’oscar International. The hotel has been created from a Baroque-style, grade II listed former church in Holborn, a grand literary hub, and the centre of a thriving mix of bars, shops and restaurants that forms part of the city’s coolest high-end district. Imagination and attention to detail is woven into the fabric of L’oscar, from the sumptuously-decorated bedrooms, velvet and leather interiors, exquisitely-unique champagne coupes, crystal butterfly wing taps and chandelier.

Our 4 night stay at l’Oscar was truly phenomenal. From check-in with Sara, to the gentlemen who welcomed us back every time we entered, and especially the waitstaff in the restaurant (Anna Maria is a delight!), we felt valued, welcomed and at home here. The food was fantastic, the beds the most comfortable we experienced in our 5-week trip across Europe, and the personalized service we received was really the perfect way to end our trip. It’s the little things that make it feel so lovely; remembering our names, sending up thoughtful gifts for my birthday, what we ordered at the restaurant from day to day, and remembering that we were eager to get home to our dog :) The location is also fantastic — literally a 2 minute walk to the Holborn Central/Piccadilly line tube station, getting you most places in the city within 20-30 minutes. Even though you feel in the middle of all the action, once you step inside it feels cozy, luxurious, quiet and serene. Really couldn’t recommend it more — felt like great value for money, especially in London!! Opulent but relaxed, luxurious but approachable, and we felt like the staff genuinely valued hospitality and wanted us to enjoy our stay. 10/10!

As all the press reviews note, the design of this place would do Oscar Wilde proud. I think of l’Oscar as the gayest hotel in London! Fabulous rooms, over-the-top service and exceptionally great breakfast offerings. Speaking of which, the breakfast server Anna should be singled out for her exceptional grace and service.

Felt like a queen staying at this hotel. Wonderful location right across from the tube station and plenty of things to walk to. Just like everyone says, it's a prime location and yet it's so quiet!! They have a second layer on the windows to prevent noise from the street and it works amazing - I was on the lowest floor and right on the alleyway where they receive deliveries, but I didn't hear anything. Never heard any doors slamming or internal noise either. Staff is top notch. Food is incredible. Cocktails are heavenly. Rooms are the most luxurious I've ever stayed in. 100% will be back.

This review is long overdue, but I must write it down. I came here for Christmas dinner with friends. We are happy to see the hotel/ restaurant look nice and hoping the food also good. We've booked a set menu and are required to choose the menu in advance, which is understandable. We expect the food will be ready on-time as we choose the menu. In the short story, every course took an hour to serve. We were there from 7am to 10pm and our dessert was still not out. Not only for the food, ordering drinks also took forever. A few of our friends left after 10 pm as the dessert still had no sign to serve. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she said that the kitchen is busy and not only serves our table. I work at the hospitality business, so her answer really can't be accepted. They mess up with our order and find out that it charges us double. In fact it's their fault not to prepare our meal based on the order. Glad we still have our patience and try to enjoy the time by taking lots of pictures. Guests who came far behind us already left and got served before us. Seems like the staff has no clue and does not do the job desk or job section. They need to work as a team better. This is the first time I have had a 3 course meal for over 3,5hrs. Really slow service.
