I celebrated my birthday at this hotel, and it was an unforgettable experience! My partner organized a surprise, and everything was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was magical, the food in the restaurant was delicious, and the staff was incredibly professional and attentive. The room’s decor was simply stunning – a real ‘wow’ factor! I couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special occasion. Highly recommended!

Won a 12 meal dinning experience here and I was apprehensive about having to choose the vegetarian. But I was pleasantly surpised, the food, the staff and atmosphere was amazing. Dishes were varied and tasty. Would definitely recommend for a date night or just a great meal.

Not sure what all the bad reviews are for! Me and my boyfriend stayed at the crazy bear last night and had the best time! The room was perfect and clean, the staff were really friendly and helpful, the Thai restaurant was amazing and so were our drinks at the bar! The only thing I would say was the service charge at the bar I wasn’t expecting - and the fact parking is a little bit of a nightmare, but we got parked up the road! Other than that we had a great time and would definitely return. Thank you

It’s a real shame that this beacon of hotels has gone so downhill. The staff are rude (in the main) and not knowledgeable. They try and charge you surreptitiously for items they are not supposed to charge you for. The ‘pool’ and ‘jacuzzi’ are colder than a nun’s **** so you cannot enter. Half the hotel is under refurbishment which is not advertised when you pay the exorbitant rates for what you get. The Thai restaurant is a shadow of its old London counterpart. The staff are rude and with terrible service. I heard old staff turning up and talking to current staff about how terrible it is to work there and how they have secured jobs at better places with better contract terms. Definitely do not stay at this place unless you have more money than sense.

We had booked a weekend stay in January 2025 for our daughter and her boyfriend for their birthdays after they chose this hotel. Due to roads being unsafe due to snow they were unable to travel so contacted the hotel to see if they could move the date as we’re really looking forward to staying at the hotel however they were told that is not possible and there was nothing the hotel could do and the room had been paid for and as it’s within 24 hours of the stay no refund can be given either. I sent an email of complaint which was acknowledged and a reply that my email has been forwarded to the senior managers however no response from any senior manager has been received so I sent another follow up email which this time was not acknowledged. We have had many friends & family ask about how was the weekend and would we recommend the hotel, which we have replied absolutely not and recommended other hotels where we’ve had extremely positive and professional experiences with customer services.
