We had afternoon tea in this glorious historic location. This hotel has been built in an old Dock warehouse and its a creative and attractive transformation. The bricks and pillars of the old warehouse are everywhere giving areal sense of place and atmosphere. We ate in a dining area that had lots of light from the big windows situated along the waterfront and which open onto the dockside so on a sunny day you can sit out by the water. The old tobacco warehouse opposite is an imposing listed building of historic significance which is being converted into apartments. The table for our afternoon tea was beautifully laid and the staff are very friendly, welcoming and relaxed. They were polite and attentive throughout the tea making sure we got more tea and coffee when we needed it. The tea itself was ample with 4 good-sized finger sandwiches per person, a macaroon, a little chocolate cake and 2 large scones per person with jam and cream. All the sandwiches were fresh and delicious, the cakes were lovely and the stones fluffy and well- baked. When I was struggling to order a taxi at the end because my data wasnt working on my phone, a lovely member of the Reception desk team helped me to get onto the hotel wifi. Hotel staff are so important and the staff here are excellent. Fantastic experience. Would definitely come again.

Wow, what a beautiful hotel, this was our second stay and it was just amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for the team of very hard workers and the place was spotless throughout. We were made to feel welcome by the receptionist. The rooms are huge and the beds are so comfortable. The food was delicious in the evening, we opted to have the 3 course deal which was included with our room and it was so good. Breakfast the following morning was just amazing, they really do cater for everyone and so much to chose from. If you are staying then dont miss the Spa, it is so relaxing and not too busy so you can really enjoy. This place is not to be missed at all, we enjoyed our stay from start to finish. Thank you to you all for your hard work and making this hotel one of the best.

Best hotel! We love it here! The decoration! The breakfast! The rooms! The staff! All is perfect, we celebrate our wedding with an afternoon tea in the private dinning area, the service unfortunately I can’t remember his name was exceptional, very professional, always making sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were impeccable! We had chocolates, rose petals and a card from the room management congratulating us for our marriage. The room was huge with an amazing view to the Mersey. The breakfast is delicious with lots and lots of options. I cant thank this place and staff enough for such a excellent experience in our important day ❤️💍

Amazing hotel. So well thought out in terms of decor. Yes it is dark but it creates the atmosphere of times gone by. We were upgraded to the Stanley suite it was amazing. Staff are super. Shout out to Tracy in the Stanley bar and grill. Only suggestions is no mirror near a plug to do my hair. There should be even a small fold away mirror on a desk that would be perfect. Got a deal on breakfast, room and 3 courses I thought this was good value.

A magnificent hotel in an historic warehouse building. Very spacious and well fitted bedrooms and public rooms. Very good food and friendly service. Tracey did a great job in the restaurant. An extensive buffet breakfast. Parking was very easy alongside the hotel. One small issue was that I found many of the areas rather dark, lacking both natural and artificial light.
