Magnificent establishment with fantastic collection on Egyptian history,Animals,Dinosaurs and arts and sculptures . Taxidermy in its best on the exhibits. Especial feature Alfred the Gorilla. and Thylacine. Free entry. Great place to bring kids and lots of activities around the museum. Needs to pay for Constable in Bristol if you are interested in National treasures(see photo). Very helpful staff. Very informative descriptions. Worth spending and hour or so to cover the whole collection. Very central location.Ample parking in surrounding car parks.

Went for the fabulous dramatic building more than the exhibits but there was a huge choice of subjects all of which are well represented. Great for both adults and kids. Small play area for bored toddlers, toilets and a cafe (although the food service is a bit slow). Highly recommend.

Hereby, I present a comprehensive review of the recently visited Bristol Museum & Art Gallery. This esteemed institution serves as a treasure trove of Egyptian mummies, awe-inspiring art, fascinating dinosaur exhibits, and captivating natural history displays, all housed within a magnificent architectural setting. The Bristol Museum & Art Gallery is open to the public six days a week and offers free admission, making it an accessible and enriching cultural destination for all.

A stunning and highly informative museum. We spent several hours exploring the museum and its collection of art, archaeology, and minerals. It very much retains its Victorian feel whilst also moving in the present, having clearly been heavily invested into. The collections are excellent and well curated.
