Designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, Liverpool Anglican Cathedral is the largest in the UK and the fifth largest in the world. This fascinating and unique building is a historic landmark famously described by Sir John Betjeman as "One of the greatest buildings in the world".

Set within the heart of the city we have developed an excellent reputation for hosting a variety of events ranging from large-scale, high profile galas to cultural programmes. From its majestic, expansive, Great Space to intimate oak panelled function rooms; from the ornate Lady Chapel to the modern presentation theatre, Liverpool Cathedral has a full range of distinguished spaces to hold your event, and a team of Event professionals to assist you through every part of the process.

Although smaller than the Main space, the Well is no less spectacular. With stunning views through the Dulverton Bridge to the High Altar, it offers an exceptional view of the Cathedral.

With a natural stage, this space is perfect for receptions, intimate dinners and concerts. Artistic lighting can really transform any space in the Cathedral creating an extraordinary setting.

Britains largest cathedral in all of its glory. What a majestic masterpiece of architecture it is. Built in a Gothic style between 1904 and 1978. It’s 101 metres high. Free to enter (donations accepted) and absolutely worth a visit. Just as breathtaking inside as the outer architecture. Overwhelming amounts to take in, such as incredible stained glass, wall & ceiling carvings and multiple different halls to walk around.

What a stunning building inside! Absolutely gorgeous example of its kind. Stained glass and a temporary exhibition were enjoyed whilst listening to the Northumbrian Chamber Choir rehearse ahead of performances that day. Free entry with a donation is delightful and I was glad to pay. Would highly recommend.

It's such a fabulous piece of architecture! We loved our visit so much, and it is one we will remember for years to come. It was really great and very large (we managed to spend a full hour here). My only complaint would be the modern art displayed here. It is nice, and I definitely see how some would adore it. However, the pieces were quite large and rather intrusive (they were mainly bright red) as they did not fit the general theme of a cathedral. Personally, I feel like it would be better in its original format. With that said, the rest was stunning, and I would definitely return in the future.

The cathedral is certainly very large. The sheer size is worth going to see. Being relatively new (by European standards) it doesn't have the gravitas of the older cathedrals but tries to engage interest by having thought-provoking sculptures dotted around the building.
