Very nicer countryside hotel. Very large rooms and very warm despite cold temperatures outside. Same for the swimming pool. The water is very warm making it pleasant to swim or just enjoy the water. Nice sauna and hot jacuzzi. Small but well equipped gym. All leisure facilities are free to use for hotel guests. Leisure Center open from 7am till 9pm (last entry 8pm). Plenty of parking and reasonable price (at least for my booking). I have not tried food so cannot comment. The only disappointment was Tesla chargers not working and should be completely replaced.

Not the best experience for the price. We had a spa day for two. The massage wasn’t great, the therapist barely moved her hands, mostly just pressed the same spot with her fingers. Before our treatments, we were told there would be hot and cold drinks in the waiting room. There was a coffee machine, but no coffee. And then the “cold drinks” were lukewarm tap water. Not great for the price, some bottled mineral water or at least something like a cucumber/fruit infused water would have been nicer for a spa. The pool was a bit disappointing, it’s very shallow all throughout, yet supposedly it’s only for lane swimming. It was also overly chlorinated, I’ve been to many pools before and I’ve never smelled so strongly of chlorine. I took 2 showers and the smell was still strong. The pool is also not well maintained, there was black mould in places, as well as rotting wood. The steam room and sauna were nice. The jacuzzi was also nice to try, but again not well maintained, there were pieces of tile falling off when touched. The changing room is okay, needs some upgrades as it has an outdated look. But the toilet was straight up dirty, which is unacceptable in a place like this, which is supposedly all about health and wellness. The soap in the shower was cheap and watered down. Any other spa would have nice smelling, luxurious soap. The restaurant was fine, but not what we came for. After the disappointing treatment and facilities, we will not be returning. £100+ for subpar treatment, nothing about this felt like luxury. They are obviously trying to cut costs at every level.

Do yourself a favour, and don’t book this hotel. My husband and I arrived, and within 10 minutes of checking in, we left. The room was filthy, black mould everywhere and when we asked for a different room, we were told there was none available other than a downgrade, which considering ours was so bad we didn’t want to risk it. We checked ourselves into a premier inn instead, which was practically 5 star luxury in comparison.

Sprowston Fails Spectacularly ! My husband and I booked a weekend at Sprowston Manor for Valentine’s Day and our first wedding anniversary, expecting a special and memorable stay. We booked weeks in advance and even called ahead to confirm that if we didn’t opt for the set Valentine’s dinner, we would still be able to order food in the bar. We were categorically assured this would be no problem. Upon arriving on Friday (Valentine’s night), dressed up and ready for a lovely evening, we were told the kitchen had stopped serving food. The reason? They had taken an extra 50 bookings and were now too busy. The solution we were offered? "Just order a takeaway on Deliveroo and eat it in your room." Excuse me?! If we wanted a takeaway in bed, we would have stayed at home! Determined to salvage the evening, I insisted we weren’t eating in our room, and we ended up having a cold Wagamama’s in the foyer—hardly the romantic evening we envisioned. Fast forward to Saturday night—again, we were assured we could eat in the bar. The restaurant was closed, but food would be available. Once again, we got dressed up, only to be told there was NO food being served. This time, no excuse was given, but we later discovered that the kitchen was too busy catering for a Young Farmers' party in a marquee! So, Deliveroo, round two. Had we known we wouldn’t be able to eat in the hotel, we NEVER would have booked it. The hotel is not within walking distance of any restaurants, and being forced to rely on takeaways completely ruined our special weekend. It is pure greed to take more bookings than you can handle, while neglecting the guests actually staying at your establishment. To top it all off, when we checked out, we raised our concerns with the Operations Manager, who, while polite, didn’t seem to grasp the sheer incompetence of the situation. He offered us £20 in compensation. I took it, given how much we’d spent on takeaways, but in hindsight, I wish I’d said, "Don’t insult me!" This hotel is beyond substandard, and Britannia Hotels should be ashamed. If you are thinking of staying here for a special occasion, do yourself a favor—go somewhere else
