February 2025Only stayed the one night. Our room was warm, cosy and very comfortable. Housekeeping was 100% breakfast was simple but delicious. It's in the centre of town and within walking distance of the cathedral. The hotel's collection of clocks is excellent, a place full of history and well worth a visit. All the staff were happy and cheerful and very helpful and more than willing to share the history of the building. We will be back.

February 2025An interesting period hotel. Disappointed that the restaurant was closed the night we stayed which we had been informed about before our arrival, as we would have loved to have been able to dine in. But even more so as the bar was shut so we had to go to one of the local bars to catch a drink. Such a shame as the building looked fantastic even with all the lights off .

February 2025Very historic and unique hotel - we stayed one night in an amazing old room with beam ceiling. Don't expect a modern hotel finish - part of the charm is the ramshackle nature of the buildings. There was no dinner service available while we were staying which we didn't know about beforehand, but we had a fantastic breakfast. Only criticism is that we asked for recommendations for a taxi company and for places to eat, and the recommendations turned out to be rubbish. The taxi didn't show up and the lady was then very rude on the phone, and the recommended restaurants were all either full or not serving food, but the hotel didn't suggest we'd have any trouble getting in so their recommendations were quite unhelpful overall. Do your own research rather than asking the hotel for recommendations.

March 2025Food absolutely fantastic. Brilliant roast dinner. Soup delicious. Staff friendly and helpful, but quite occupied with a couple of big tables. Kind of weird atmosphere - felt a bit like an old people’s home.
