POLPO is a bàcaro. This is a Venetian word to describe a humble restaurant serving simple food and good, young Italian wines. We offer tasty small plates, Prosecco and Spritz in a setting that reflects the gloriously faded elegance of Venice and the charms of its backstreet wine bars.
Situated below the restaurant in the basement of POLPO Soho on Beak Street you’ll find our Campari Bar. The walls of exposed brick are peppered with original Campari advertisements from different eras of the twentieth century. A simple menu of hot and cold cichèti (Venetian bar snacks) is available along with a full cocktail and wine list. The Campari Bar can accommodate up to 16 people for a sit down meal, or up to 30 for an informal drinks party.

By far the best Italian food we've had in London! Everything in Polpo is amazing: decor, service, menu, and of course the food! We shared all starters and mains as we wanted to try everything! Small enough portions to be able to do a mix and match, and very affordable prices for the location! Will definitely return and spread the word!❤️

Favourite Italian restaurant in London. Small sharing plates so you get to taste a selection of menu items. Most of the servers are Italian and very helpful making food and wine selections. We like to sit at the bar to enjoy the atmosphere - super cosy.

Amazing restaurant warm cozy and intimate. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We ordered several plates to share (tapas style) and the food was amazing. I highly recommend the port cutlet!

Quite average I would say! The person that greeted us was gentle and professional but we didn’t like the girl that was responsible for our table. Quite cold, not smiling at all, and was obvious that she didn’t like what she was doing. She was coming again and again to take the dishes from our table even though we were eating slow and we haven’t finished. Food was ok, nothing special but as always overpriced compared to the quantity. We liked the dessert more! I am happy that I ate there due to the buzz especially from time out but I don’t think that I will visit again!

Rock average Italian with decent veg options. There are a lot of Italian places around Soho and Covent Garden which are run by Italians (little family places) which are a lot more authentic. The menu here feels a bit like trying to push the boat out but falling in the water a little bit. Ok it's a little different and that's nice, but I'd barely put this in the category of an "Italian" restaurant.
