We stayed in the Penthouse for 2 nights and loved our stay! Checkin was friendly and helpful, and the hotel is located in the best area of town possible! We walked everywhere- shops, restaurants, castle, river, monuments… it really is the best. Make sure you read your emails about how to get to hotel based on mode of transportation! We drove so we parked at the nearby Waverley station which is across the street and down about 2 blocks, so it is a short walk (but feels long when raining). The bed was very comfortable, the shower was incredibly large with great pressure, the luxury bath products were lovely and the views were unbeatable. The couches and chairs were not comparable- those should be replaced with ones in softer material and more comfortable for watching tv and visiting. The balcony in the penthouse is good sized with a table and 4 high chairs to capture the great view facing the castle! Breakfast was large and service was great! The restaurant for dinner is just alright. Service and food was mediocre there but the singer for entertainment was incredible!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Scotsman Hotel in Edinburgh (July) and it was a truly exceptional experience. The rooms are stunning, featuring high ceilings and breathtaking views of Princess Street and the Scots Monument. Every morning, I looked forward to the amazing breakfast, which exceeded all expectations. A special shout-out to the reception team, who made my stay even more enjoyable. Jess and Queenie were particularly outstanding, providing the best recommendations and directions with a warm and welcoming attitude. The Scotsman Hotel combines elegance, comfort, and outstanding service, making it a top choice for anyone visiting Edinburgh. I will surely be returning!

We spent a night here during our recent trip to Scotland. What a great location! Our room was clean with a great view of the city. It is a simple walk to the train station as well as most of the other tourist sites you may want to see. We had dinner at the restaurant and the atmosphere was great, as well as the food. The only negative is that we ordered a dessert we never received and the waitress had not realized it. The result was no sweet treats but also we were left sitting for about half an hour. Not enough to take away from our overall experience and would stay, and eat, here again.

Food was nice when we eventually got it. Our table was made up on arrival, despite us having booked in advance. After 15 mins we had to ask for menus and water for the table. After almost half an hour we had to ask for someone to take our order. We had been there an hour before we actually ate anything. It wasn't especially busy but one waitress spent so much time chatting to diners who had already ordered we might as well have been invisible. We managed to attract attention of a waiter who finally took our order. We refused to pay the "service" charge. The bill came immediately we asked for it - we asked as soon as food came just in case. Wouldn't rush back purely down to the lack of service.
