February 2024We spent two nights for my wife's birthday at Ashdown Park Hotel, and I can honestly say it was superb from beginning to end. We were given a complimentary upgrade to the most beautiful suite with stunning views from our balcony of the gardens and forest. As it was my wife's birthday, they had left a card and chocolates for her as well, which was a lovely touch. We unfortunately couldn't eat at the Anderida restaurant as it's closed on Monday and Tuesday, but the Forest Brassiere, which has more of a relaxed feel to it, was excellent for both lunch and dinner alike. My wife indulged in her prebooked spa treatments, which were excellent, and all the team were so professional and helpful. In the evenings, we treated ourselves to after dinner drinks, and thanks to a friend who has been before, told me they have two full-size snooker tables downstairs from the bar, which was a laugh mostly at our own expense! The whole experience of the hotel was simply fantastic. Every member of the team was friendly, polite, and professional. I'd like to particularly highlight Jordan at reception and Thomas in the Brassiere who are an absolute credit to your establishment, so welcoming, full of smiles, and nothing was too much trouble.

May 2024We had a wonderful short break here. The staff are very helpful and the views are amazing. The food was very very good. The hotel style is traditional English, and the standard room was larger than most hotels. In general the hotel was clean, although there were areas that could have been better. We enjoyed the traditional afternoon tea, it was delicious! In my top ten afternoon teas of all time. We also enjoyed a tour of the chapel and walked around the grounds. They are well setup as a wedding venue.

March 2024Champagne Afternoon Tea with my friend for her birthday today. Lovely views, very comfortable and tea was really tasty and enjoyable with a very nice variety. Our server, Donna was very attentive and welcoming. Will definitely visit again and considering a spa stay in the future

February 2024Hotel is not as luxurious as described online. Lovely country house but tired, lots of old carpets, old stains and dated facilities. “Spa” is a very loose term, indoor pool and jacuzzi with no natural light and no sun loungers. Tennis courts and gym looked good however. Bedroom was average (but paid for standard) and had all necessary facilities. The horror we encountered were a pair of dirty socks in the bottom of the bed sheets as we were getting ready for bed. This would imply that the sheets had not be changed at all, which is foul. I, however cannot fault the service we received and within minutes we were transferred to a new, better room. In fact, the service the whole stay was brilliant. I cannot fault it. I can fault the price of cocktails…horrendous! Hotel is in the middle of no where, so they know their customers are going to pay the prices or go without. Standard cocktails £17.95 Champagne £19.95 Wine was standard in pricing. A positive was the food. Dinner and breakfast were fantastic.

March 2024We spent 2 nights in this hotel as a present for our 30th with my boyfriend. It was impossible to sleep with the noise of the wind in the windows and the noise we could her from other people's rooms. Staff was very friendly but not to the standard of a 4 stars. In addition, we have been charged gratuities for the massages, which no one told us about and which bring them to an unreasonable price. The massages were average. Overall, we wouldn't come back if we had to pay for it but as it was a present we enjoyed it. In brief, check your bill (over £5 for a bottle of water and overcharges tips) and don't have high expectations for your sleep quality, which is a shame in a hotel.
