The Monastery Manchester is a magnificent building designed by Augustus Pugin, and was once listed in the world’s 100 most endangered sites.

Following an extensive restoration scheme, the hidden treasure is now a beautiful and stunning location for a range of corporate, social and cultural occasions. This unique Grade II* listed venue is the perfect setting for any special event. With impressively versatile internal spaces, The Monastery's in-house team can help create an experience which guests will never forget.\

Located only minutes away from Manchester city centre, The Monastery is easily reached with good transport links.

The Monastery Manchester is managed by the same charitable trust that saved it from dereliction 23 years ago. All profits from events go back into the community outreach projects and restoration work on the Grade II* listed building.

The Great Nave is the main event space at the Monastery Manchester. The large, open room features stunning architecture and beautiful partially-restored original features, providing an impressive backdrop for corporate events, conferences, gala dinners and team buildings events.

Everything was perfect for my get together, all the ladies enjoyed themselves thoroughly. The table settings were lovely and the food was excellent. We even had a sing in the Nave. We couldn’t believe when it was time for us to leave even the sun shone so we could walk in the Healing Garden. Thank you so much for making my day so pleasurable I will not hesitate to recommend the Monastery for a function and I am sure a lot of the ladies will be back. Thanks again Ann

Thanks once again to you and the Monastery team for making the evening a great success. A special thanks to John and Glen for everything they did on the day too which I know is always a full on day but they were both incredibly helpful and a pleasure to work with so please pass on our gratitude.

Hi. I visited the Monastery today with 2 friends. It was the Little Owls Christmas fair. The fair was lovely, lots of nice hand crafted items. We walked around in what would have been the main area of the Monastery. What a calm atmosphere. We looked at all the areas and read the history of the Monastery . What an amazing place and so tastefully and sensitively re built from such dereliction. We had a coffee in the small but functional cafe. The boards around the Monastery gave you blast from the past with all the pictures and memories of Belle Vue which was again fantastic. The Monastery do so much to keep this wonderful building alive. You can watch tribute bands, take part in health healing, there's lots on offer. Well worth a visit. Free entry, free carpark. Easy access for people with disabilities. Absolutely fabulous. Thank you so much for the hard work you put in this piece of history. X

We had our wedding at the Monastery in August and it was a glorious experience! Our coordinator Chloe went above and beyond to customise our day and accomodate for all the things that were important to us from creating a photo corner to giving us access to a side room for half the day so we had somewhere to recouperate and relax. The service staff were incredibly kind and cheerful and provided excellent and seamless service throughout the night and didn't rush us to take everything back on the same day. The food was also exceptional! I cannot wait to be invited to a wedding/event there so I can have the food again! I would recommend the Monastery because of the beautiful and ornate building and garden (which helps saving on decoration and veue dresssing) and also the kind and helpful staff.

A great music venue in the old monastery. Beautiful architecture and all nicely laid out. Naturally the sound of any gig there has quite an echo. The seats are incredibly uncomfortable though, after an hour you really need to get up. Also the bar only serves bottled beers, a couple of options on draught would be better.
