Took on the challenge of prison break last night. First escape room experience and had an absolute blast. Found it very challenging with 2 people. Lots of things to solve to get small clues and make progress. Our progress was very slow and didn't make it out in the time unfortunately. Definitely recommend but if never done an escape room before a couple more brains may be helpful.

I did the Horrible Histories room with my sisters and it was the worst escape room I’ve done in Liverpool. - When we entered the room, there was crisp wrappers and rubbish on the cupboard. The game master removed it, so I thought that was the worst of it, but I was wrong. - The audio system was really bad - you couldn’t hear what the game master was saying, so you had to leave each room to the central corridor to understand better. He kept saying to go back into the room, but the audio was so quiet. - In the final room, my sister accidentally dropped one of the clues down the side of a cupboard. We asked the game master repeatedly what we should do, but we got no response so we weren’t able to solve the rest of the room without it. - When we didn’t make it out of the room, the games master came to explain the puzzles. One of the main puzzles required a 4 digit code to unlock a box - every combination we tried, it didn’t work. The games master went through that puzzle, obtained the same answer as us and tried the lock and it didn’t work. He told us that the lock must be broken and that the pieces needed to solve the rest of the room were in that box. So, we would never have been able to escape regardless. - The games master told us that even 11 year olds could solve this room - I’m sure people can solve this room if the locks and puzzles actually work. It was extremely disappointing and I wouldn’t do another escape room here :(

I did the prison break and it was a great experience that I would normally recommend to others. However, upon arriving, every individual must sign a waiver (which I think is a bit extreme for an Escape Room, but I get that there may be legal reasons for it) which forces you to agree to them sending marketing materials. I understand you can unsubscribe at a later stage, but I feel quite strongly against being forced to hand over my email address to receive marketing.
