Stayed for one night as a Birthday treat with my daughter. What a stunning, characterful hotel. The grounds are beautiful. Staff were so kind & friendly. I even received a drinks voucher to celebrate my birthday….very nice touch..thank you. Our room was opulent to say the least. Breakfast was served overlooking the gardens and was very substantial. We loved everything about this hotel including the spa and look forward to staying again very soon. Only a short stroll into the centre of Stratford. What more could you ask for.

Booked a room last minute for £130 B&B with an offer. Unsure what to expect after reading mixed reviews. Frustrating that when I arrived at 4pm check in the hotel couldn't confirm my booking I had made via booking.com? The staff did get this sorted prompt when I advised I was needing to use the room for a work call, they were really professional and helpful so many thanks to them. Beautiful building, grounds and views from the hills you can walk up despite miserable weather. The room had some signs of general wear, some marks on the desk and bathroom counter but really not excessive or detracting. The bed was comfy and I appreciate being able to properly open the windows otherwise I think I would have been too hot! Beautiful views of hills and gardens from my room. Very happy with the gym, small and compact but was able to use treadmill, weights and cable machine. Pool and spa was great although closing at 8pm on a Friday night was too early for me wanting to enjoy a relaxing night away. Outdoor jet pool really was amazing after being in the steam room! Tasty breakfast selection all self serve (hot buffet, pastries/bread, toaster, fruit, yoghurts). Would have preferred fresh tea pots rather than hot water urns but it was hot at least, some veggie sausages would have been a nice addition but I certainly didn't go hungry. I had a great stay for the price I paid and would be happy to stay again!

Hey… a shout out to Roger. He made our stay a much better experience. We booked this hotel for two nights because of its golf course and leisure facilities. Room on the second floor was dire(we were then moved to the first floor). Thank goodness for that as the ventilation was much better, it was clean and didn’t feel like we were left in a room not used for years. We did thankfully had a good nights’ rest. Leisure centre needs looking after- it was messy with towels strewn around, lounge chairs broken…We will provide details to the hotel and hopefully by the time you visit… you’ll enjoy a better experience. Thank you again Roger for your hospitality. Despite Roger and his colleague at the bar getting an 5* for service, the other staff we met at our dining & leisure location need service training. BW should invest in better customer service training for all employees to feel empowered & to ensure customer satisfaction.
