February 2025I enjoyed the visit. The zoo is very good loads to see, and it's quite spread out, so it's not over quickly. The animals are well looked after and they have good facilities. The food wasn't expensive in the cafe and there are picnic areas if you take your own food. Large car park area.

March 2025Had such a great time here. We spent 3 hours here before having to leave due to other commitments and we didn't even get to see all the animals. There is so much to do here for all ages and lots of different animals to see. You can download an app which gives you a virtual map and directions to animals, activities and talks. We brought our own lunch with us and there are lots of places to sit and eat while you watch the animals. There are also lots of toilets available all around the park and most are accessible for disabled and parent and baby.

March 2025There’s lots of things to see and do at Marwell Zoo, if you can tolerate the smell of poo! Unfortunately I went during some renovation works before the school holidays and missed out on penguins and red pandas. Nevertheless, a wonderful place to visit that’s obviously a labour of love 🥰 Bring your own food or eat elsewhere after your visit, their prices there are extortionate!

March 2025Well worth the visit but I'm not sure we'd go back. Although this is off peak season. There's some renovation work going on: The penguins enclosure (the penguins have been relocated to a different area and they did not look happy about it/seem to be enjoying their temp home). The main (or one of the main) food halls. So we did not sample any of the food on their menus. We had only ice creams and drinks. The gift shop is hidden by scaffolding. That being said the enclosures are large and it's clear that they are doing what they can to ensure smooth introduction between for new arrivals (there's a new tiger and a new snow leopard settling in and possibly a new red panda) and to replicate their natural surroundings/feeding habits. We were there I'd say a good 6 hours and we didn't see everything properly.

March 2025I’m not sure if it was the time of year or the weather being more on the chilly side but the visit today was awful. 80% empty enclosures, enclosure overgrown, dirty and filled with dead overgrowth. All water brown and filled with debris, Building works forcing penguins into a Costco swimming pool, poor signs to figure out where you’re heading to etc. went to grab some lunch at the restaurant and paid £40 for 2 stone cold curry and rice, chips and 3 drinks. Food was dreadful, table and eating area absolutely filthy, had to clean our table before we could eat, food all over the floor and then food was so bad we didn’t eat it. Hopefully in the summer there’s more to see and more enthusiasm from the staff but felt like it was running on fumes. Looks like most water bottle fountains were broken also. Real shame but like I said maybe the time of the year. I also struggle to understand why anyone would get rid of what looked like a fantastic little railway line which went around the zoo or did. Moors valley is thriving and I feel Like the zoo would have benefited from this additional attraction in my opinion. The new red panda enclosure looks great, the giraffes are amazing and the tigers are brilliant. Just somewhat disappointing at the state of some enclosures and the food situation.
