We loved this hotel. Great staff who are obviously proud to work there. Great food and drink all sensibly priced. Lovely gardens. Some VERY old parts of the building. Fires burning in lounges and dining rooms. And so very quiet at night. Pricy but sensibly priced compared to many hotels. Only a 25 minute drive into Bradford. AND, on top of all that, The Beatles stayed there in 1964 (and many celebs and actors continue to stay there when filming in the area.

We had a heavenly few days at Holdsworth House. We were so well looked after by the staff, who were so very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and we all especially loved the evening meals in the panelled dining room. The Hotel is steeped in history, and we enjoyed learning about it. Our kids really enjoyed the garden and joining in with their own attempt to emulate the recent competition to draw the Hotel. Importantly, it is well located for great day trips to the excellent Salts Mill, Howarth and some lovely walks in the Calder Valley.

Turned up for a Sunday lunch and were offered the festive menu. After orders were taken a waitress brought slices of rosemary bread which we believed was an appetiser so ate it before the starters arrived. Three of us ordered soup but no more bread was brought out to have with it. Turkey dinners then arrived. The portions were on the small size. Definitely needed more vegetables and the sprouts were undercooked to the point some were inedible. I would describe it as a very ordinary meal. One of our party ordered a Cola which came with ice in it which he did not want or was asked if he wanted it. Because it is Holdsworth House expectations are high that it would be something special. A bit top notch. Something a bit better than a restaurant. It didn't carry that off. Needs to have a bit more style about it.

Stayed here Easter last 2023 and then gave it 5 stars and told lots of friends and family how great the food was. This is my second visit and the food this time was no where near the same standard, mediocre at best.
