My husband and I got married in August 2024 at The Hospitium in York. We set the date a year in advance, and began planning our wedding with Ava, from the venue’s team. Ava was incredibly helpful, and the communication was brilliant throughout. We visited the venue numerous times to help us with our planning, and the Hospitium were very accommodating with this. 4 weeks prior to our wedding, we had a sit down meeting to talk through exact timings, last-minute special requests etc. All of this information was then given to staff working on the day. The whole experience felt very easy and organised - and everyone on the team was so kind and welcoming. We can’t recommend the Hospitium enough! We would also suggest that those planning on getting married here consider Mollie and Mauve for your flowers and Mine and Thine for your photography. They were just wonderful suppliers and familiar with the venue! ☺️

The party was great, any party with family is good and this was particularly good. The venue and setting were beautiful, and I was delighted with the effort made to accommodate family food intolerances and allergies. However £10.60 for a glass of wine, and it wasn't that good, let you down.

I would do my review about this place with a one-star just because your staff were rude to us on our wedding day. If you do any private dining and weddings be sure to leave a sign with the words: “Please no pictures we have private dining today”. First of all, we didn't take any pictures next to the restaurant we took pictures next to a tree which was far away from the restaurant. Your staff came around with an attitude and aggression. She was rude and didn't take into consideration that we have a wedding too!!! “Do not take any pictures here, this is a private sector, if you want to do so you have to ask us first!” - this is what she said and the way how she did that made our stay in the museum gardens terrible. We can take a picture of ourselves in this place where we want!!! This is a public place!!! Train your staff correctly!!! This happened on the 17th of August 2024. P.S. Teacher of culinary skills and hospitality services.
