Middletons Hotel, nestled in the heart of York’s city centre, is the perfect setting for your memorable wedding day. Middletons Hotel has recently been taken over by the Thwaites brand, with exciting new prosepects but still with the Middletons character this could be the perfect venue for your small intimate wedding.
The hotel, set in beautiful secluded courtyard gardens, features six historic, grade II listed buildings. As well as making the most of the gorgeous gardens, you can enjoy the views by the River Ouse and Clifford’s Tower, which provide stunning and unique backdrops for your wedding photos. Across the six buildings, Middletons has 56 well-appointed bedrooms to offer any overnight guests.
Whether you are planning a grand celebration, or a more intimate event, the unique rooms provide the perfect setting for any wedding. We hold a licence for civil ceremonies and partnerships, so you can hire our function spaces for as long as you need.
We can accommodate up to 40 guests for your romantic ceremony and wedding breakfast, and up to 60 for your evening reception.
When you plan your wedding at Middletons, our personal wedding co-ordinator, will work closely with you to ensure you have your perfect day. Every detail of your wedding will be hand-crafted to suit you, ensuring everything runs smoothly and you enjoy every single moment.

February 2025Beautiful hotel with gorgeous suite. The staff go above and beyond to ensure your stay is enjoyable. Brilliant location and a nice little break from the hustle and bustle of the city centre whilst only being a short walk from it. Immaculately clean and room felt very luxurious.

February 2025Just met up with my cousins for the weekend 8 of us in total what a fantastic time we had. The hotel is the most friendly clean hotel the staff are brilliant with an extra shout out to Becky on the bar. Everyone one of the staff can't do enough for you. Will definitely be back

January 2025Room was pleasant although couldn’t open the sink plug . It was completely stuck. The area outside our room there was a dirty cup which had just been left there . The bar area was cosy and the restaurant were nice. Reception staff not very polite , at all and needed to ask where the room was , as didn’t get told. Not sure I would stay there again , sadly.
