Popped in for lunch after visiting Broadway. Beautiful building on the main street, the atmosphere is warm and cosy, with wood beams, low ceilings and wooden floors in the bar area that has lots of nooks and crannies to sit in. The chairs are comfy and there are some areas with sofas around large coffee tables. Staff are friendly and welcoming. We didn't book ahead but they were able to find us a spot anyway, but I do recommend booking as it seems to be fully reserved most of the time. Food is truly excellent. I can highly recommend the Fish Finger Sanger, and the Lygon Burger. And the chips are genuinely amazing. Overall excellent and easy to recommend!

A wonderful traditional country hotel. The Cotswolds is a beautiful part of the UK and The Lygon Arms is the ideal spot to spend a lovely weekend. The main property is a large buzzy country pub style property. Lots of little nooks, comfy seating, lots of people (locals and residents), dogs.....it is a comfortable place to be. The service is friendly, welcoming, attentive, and professional throughout. My bedroom was spacious and comfortable. It also had a cute little courtyard seating area. The bottle of Laurent Perrier was a nice welcome touch. The spa is nice. The gym is small but has all the required equipment. The pool is a decent size, the water is warm, and the depth is good, although the steam room requires more steam. There is a jacuzzi but I did not use it. The changing room is spacious and the lockers are large. The best thing is that children are not allowed access to the spa until after 4pm, so you should have a relaxing swim I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Although the Lygon Arms boasts exquisite and wonderful surroundings it’s a pity the service didn’t live up to the same expectations. We managed to find a table to have lunch in the Tavern waited for 10mins and had to ask for menus and table to be cleared. Food was great, although no staff asked if everything was ok and if more drinks were required, the excuse was “it’s very busy”. Staff cleared table, left and no offer of desert or coffee to be ordered. For the pleasure of their lack of service they wanted to charge £9.00 which I declined.

Village is beautiful and very cosy, there is few restaurants worth exploring, however lygon arms Is the place to avoid. They massively overpriced for average food at best and also service staff was very ignorant and it felt like they were looking down and annoyed on us whenever we asked for attention or help at the table. Overall we spent way too much money for simple dinner for two and also we were treated like second class customers. Definitely won't be coming back for this poor experience.
