February 2025A lovely hotel in a great location. Excellent service, a great restaurant and, overall very good. Let down a little bit by the pool which was not only way too busy during family time (to be expected) but also not particularly clean with mould on the bottom of the pool (not expected or acceptable) But the greatest asset is the staff. What a lovely group of people. Nothing is too much and they go out of their way to ensure you are happy. The Lygon arms is an excellent example of what real service is. I can’t praise the staff highly enough. Friendly, approachable and most importantly always happy to help, and with a smile!

February 2025We only popped in for a drink as new to the village and exploring. It’s expensive, be warned! It’s lovely and the staff were friendly, drinks are brought to you which is when we should have realised it’s a bit above your usual pub! £20 for a pint and a single rum seemed needlessly excessive though in honesty. I’m sure the restaurant is amazing, being a James Martin chain.

December 2024A tale of two halves. Stunning building and setting in the centre of beautiful Broadway. Second time staying here, rooms are lovely but quite expensive. Reception staff great and friendly but that’s where the customer service deteriorates. When dining or drinking here you are made to feel quite awkward and unwelcome, the bar and waiting staff seem far too preoccupied to even say hello or smile-not what you expect for such a grand building. At breakfast and dinner (the Russell room) you literally have to hunt someone down who looks remotely interested to ask if you can sit down at a table and order. Breakfast today took an hour and a half to arrive with miserable waiting staff who got everybody’s order wrong (staff seemed hassled walking around aimlessly asking who had ordered a flat white and food items!!!) most guests today walked out without eating. During our stay the room service was delivered incorrectly with no cutlery and the plumbing in the room is poor..it’s either a boiling hot or freezing cold shower with hardly any pressure. The service at the Lygon should be effortless and slick especially when you consider the price you pay and the fact service charge is added to absolutely everything! I did explain this on checkout and the reception staff did take off all the service charge and made a small reduction on the bill which was appreciated. I really want to love it here but feel it needs a restructure..there should be less management in tweed blazers walking around the lobby and they should venture into the bars and restaurants to oversea the customer service standards.

February 2025Beautiful building, awful service. And… breathtakingly expensive. My partner, who has many years experience in front of house, was immediately struck by the many uncleared tables. We cleared & wiped down our own! The drinks we had ordered took about 25 minutes to arrive. The price? 2 x Bloody Marys 2 x Gin & Tonics = £77 If the service had been first class and we hadn’t needed to clear our own table, the price might almost have been justifiable. However, as it was, it was an almost palpable slap to the face. *I think the lack of almost any response to customers’ reviews here speaks volumes.
