Stayed at the Coach House Suite, honestly can’t fault the place at all. The pictures online when booking don’t give it justice! The Suite was its own little house which i didn’t expect. Such an ideal, luxurious, romantic spa hotel with great aesthetic and decor throughout. If this is a 4 star… whats a 5 star hotel! Dinner was great, didn’t think it would be filling but fooled me. Only thing I could say regarding both Dinner and Breakfast is seasoning goes a long way. Could do with some just to make it a bit more tasteful but I suppose everyone has a different taste. Will definitely be back again!

Fabulous stay. We were celebrating my partner’s 21st birthday and we loved the place. The spa was beautiful and I had a great experience with Leah for a facial. Food was delicious in the badgers restaurant and top quality for breakfast too. Reception team were fantastic and made us feel very welcome. The only thing I would mention is lighting might not be ideal for some guests as our room was only lit with side lights/lamps and no overhead lights. Makes for a lovely ambiance but might not be great for some people. A wonderful stay overall! Thank you to all the staff at The Elms

The hotel is set in a really nice area, with the grounds well looked after to create a picturesque setting. The hotel itself was nicely decorated and well presented throughout. The staff were friendly and professional, and looked after us well. We enjoyed the spa package and use of the pool facilities. We did find that it got fairly busy at times, with some guests unable to get seats around the pool. There were plenty of food options, and I enjoyed the steak which had lots of chips provided with it. The room was very clean and comfortable. However, probably because it is an old building, but the walls were very thin which meant that we could clearly hear the people sharing the wall with us.

Stayed for an Overnight Spa Break here with my pregnant girlfriend. Overall a lovely experience. Friendly/helpful staff, pleasant room. We stayed in the ‘Comfy Room’, which was indeed comfy, clean and did the job for a night. Would possibly upgrade if we were staying any longer though, as it wasn’t the biggest. The Spa obviously makes the experience what it is. My girlfriend had a pregnancy massage and said it was amazing. I used the sauna/steam room and we both used the pool/hot tub. All was incredible, we especially loved the decor. Our only bug bear and we weren’t alone in this, was the lack of space to sit down and relax around the pool area. For the few hours we were there I counted 3-4 couples complaining to staff that they had no where to sit as it was so busy. I appreciate most of the time it’s probably not an issue, but during busy periods it would be a real problem and was evident on a Friday Afternoon as guests were checking in and heading straight down. When you spend in excess of £400/£500 per night, at the very least you’d expect a seat by the pool. Definitely needs looking at. Apart from that, The Elms is an amazing place to get away and relax.

Pretentious and extortionate food, hard mattress, unhelpful staff. The spa is very nice, however, wouldn't recommend the hotel. The restaurant is extremely lacking, there are limited vegetarian/vegan options as it’s mostly meat dishes. The portion sizes are insulting for the amount of money each dish costs. For example we had the chip shop starter for £16, this came with 4 tiny scallops and a small thin slice of potato for each scallop. This was the theme for the rest of the dishes. Then in the hotel room the mattress was VERY hard it felt like you were laying on the floor, it was one of the worst nights sleep we’ve had in a long time. Then when we mentioned our issues at checkout we were just told “you cant please everybody” and offered us nothing. Which is even more disappointing as I can see other reviews here mentioning the same things from awhile ago that have clearly still not been addressed as per our visit. So overall spa is nice, but I wouldn't recommend the hotel as it is not worth the prices charged.
