Firstly the place is absolutely beautiful from top to bottom, the staff are very helpful & polite. This was my 1st stay here & definitely not my last. I’ve left very relaxed & happy. Food is beautiful. The facilities are gorgeous! The only thing i can say is they could probably do with harder pillows but that is just a preference & did not affect my sleep, Thankyou for a lovely time!

We stayed at the Elms the night before our wedding, and the bridal party got ready there the morning of. The whole team at the Elms, but Sasha and Liz in particular, were wonderful at helping us to plan the dinner and room reservations. They could not do enough for us to ensure the evening was exactly as we wanted. The evening itself was wonderful. I can’t remember the name of the lady that looked after us for the evening, but she was fantastic. We can’t thank the whole team enough!

Booked it as a gift for the parents birthday and called ahead to ask if they did halal food. I was informed they did and to ask the waiter for halal options. On the day my parents were told there are no halal meat options despite confirming multiple times they did halal food. When it came to check out the next day I specifically requested that a copy of the invoice not be given to them as it was their birthday yet when I picked them up the next day a copy of the invoice listing all the costs was handed to them. The atmosphere and the staff are lovely but there is very poor communication between staff.

Myself and my husband have just returned from an anniversary weekend at The Elms. Whilst the hallways where luxurious and gorgeously decorated for Christmas, this is where the luxury ended for us. We had booked the comfy room, as advertised on the elms website, when we were shown to our room (Room 9) we were left deflated, the room was significantly smaller than the one advertised online, the bathroom was also small and lacked any luxury. We held out hope that perhaps this was an advertising error for all the rooms under our rate however this was not the case. The next morning whilst the cleaners were attending to the other comfy rate rooms on our floor we could see that all of the other rooms that were our rate were much bigger and appeared to mirror what had been advertised online ! We spoke to reception and explained that we had booked the same rate as everyone else and that if Room 9 was half the size of all the other comfy rate rooms then it should be half the price. The lady on reception was very helpful and said that as we were staying 3 nights and spending a significant amount of money that they would see if they could switch our rooms. Much to our delight we were switched to Room 8, still a comfy room rate and was twice the size of the original room, we were relieved that our anniversary break could finally be back on track. However, what sat uncomfortable with me was that there would still be someone suffering, someone who would be forced to stay in room 9 and be charged the same as the other comfy rooms which are twice the size. As for the service, we waited 40 minutes for a gin & tonic on the day of our arrival and this was a theme that carried throughout our stay. Lunch was satisfactory, as long as you haven't ordered a cold sandwich, this arrives as filling on a slice of bread with no lid presented as an "open sandwich" the issue is this was not made apparent until the filling on bread arrived at the table. We were also disappointed that during our whole stay there was not a table cloth in sight ! Something so basic which adds the level of luxury residents are paying for.
