Stopped for the weekend to visit family, what a treat!! Lovely room with massive bed. Beautiful building, excellent staff and good food, what more do you need. We will be back. Thank you

Wow, this place is awesome, for those that like the country side style stay and maybe for those that have not tired it, this place offers the same service any other city hotel does. The bed and pillows are super good, feels like you're sleeping on a cloud, and you wake up feeling super energetic from your sleep. Breakfast was amazing. I recommended trying the Eggs Benedict. Coffee machine makes every different coffee you could want...ORANGE juice was fresh...breakfast bar was good. I could go on and on, but come try this wonderful place out for yourself.

Unfortunately the rooms in the oldest part of the building are just awful. Very cramped, difficult to reach by very steep stairs, low head height and overcrowded with poor quality furniture. Not even cleaned properly and very cold. Difficult to recommend these rooms to anyone however the rest of the hotel ( newer rooms) such as the dining area was comfortable and pleasant. Food very good and staff very helpful and friendly. My advice would be to avoid the old rooms if you can.

Great food and service in restaurant. Bedroom ( high end price) good bed and covers. Also good lighting. No full mirror. Only 3 hangers in small wardrobe, we were staying 3 nights ! ? Heat not on or too hot. Big chip in lavatory seat NOT changed in 3 days, lime scale in lavatory collecting poo. No grab handle to get in and out of big bath for shower. Nowhere to hang Wet coats except in steamy shower. Good water pressure though.

The venue itself is beautiful! Some of the staff were lovely- James the Manager on duty was brilliant and so so helpful! It’s unfortunate when he left the service quality dropped massively. Staff were scraping plates at the tables infront of guests! That’s a big no no! Service was also very slow when waiting for mains and desserts! You’d think being a beautiful wedding venue they’d properly prepare staff for events like these? When they came to replace plates for the dessert platter I was given a dirty plate. I then asked for a new one , to be handed a slightly less dirty plate. Not very appetising. We then also had our cutlery taken away and nothing returned which was difficult with no member of the team around to ask for new. A real shame but the venue is gorgeous. Some rooms look older than others with the bridal suite not being worth it in my opinion but higher end standard rooms are of a better quality. Very cramped. Nobody of 6ft would be able to shower in some rooms due to slanted ceilings! I was also duplicates charged. £115 for the stay which was paid at the time of booking with rezcontrol stating this as their hotel software. I was then asked to pay again on check in - having already paid I was very confused and wishes I’d kicked up more of a fuss but just wanted to get to my room to change for the rest of the wedding. I am still waiting for the refund of the duplicate charge to appear in my account! But these can take 3-5 business days so it’s not all the businesses fault. All in all a gorgeous venue with decent food / kitchen team. It’s a shame some of the team haven’t had proper training out front and the hotel itself could do with investing a little bit more into itself.
