The Grand Pier, Weston-super-Mare

I grew up in Weston, lost part of my finger rebuilding the pier, still visit the pier. It's a pier with an arcade but done well, kids always enjoy it and I think prices are reasonable. Get amongst it.

We really appreciated a visit to this pier down in Weston-super-Mare, which has remained in proper condition decades after its heydays! Entry is cheap at the turnstiles and the pier head looks right out to the sea from the muddy beach, saw it lit up blue on carnival night which felt so special. There is a lot of fun and games here where we decided on the ghost train, loved travelling through the dark with my friend in the carriage and the jump scares were fun!

There was a £1 entry fee for this pier. There is a large amusement building with some rides and a couple of places for food and drink. The very end of the pier was blocked off, but there were reasonable views from the rest of it - although the sea does go out a long way here, so you may only have sand under most of the pier at times.
