Set at the head of Dorking’s famed High Street, amidst the rolling Hills of the North Downs and Surrey’s world-famous Denbies Vineyard Estate, The White Horse was restored to its former Dickensian glory following a £4 million refurbishment in 2018. Combined with 56 en-suite bedrooms, 3 function spaces, extensive dining facilities including The Dozen restaurant and bar concept (inspired by Charles Dickens (who was reported to have written some of the Pickwick papers whilst staying here many years ago) showcases classic cocktails, local ales and wines make it a perfect venue for meetings and events in Surrey.
The Pickwick room is a semi private space located on the ground floor and is ideal for meetings, events

August 2024My girlfriend and I stayed here for the bank holiday weekend and we had an absolutely amazing trip. Every staff member was absolutely amazing, so incredibly welcoming and helpful. The room was lovely and the music was a great touch! The food as well was delicious, both the breakfast and the lunch! We’re already planning our next trip!!

August 2024We had a really wonderful stay at The White Horse. The staff, despite being short-staffed, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was great. They are super dog friendly, which made our stay so much easier! Food, as expected from a Heartwood Inn, was top notch and our room was really spacious plus lush to look at! Only downside is the lack of parking onsite for such a busy venue!

September 2024We were pleasantly surprised as we had not been here before. The car park is small but we were able to get in it comfortably. The interior is gorgeous, light and airy with comfortable furnishings. Our waitress was lovely, she didn't hurry us at all even though some of our guests were running late. My daughter is celiac and they catered for her wonderfully. The food we had was delicious and plentiful, 10 out of 10, with every plate cleared!! Very pleased and we will definitely be back.

August 2024Family dinner for 6 , Friday evening. Asked for a quieter table & were taken to a circular one in the rear room. Nicely handled, no fuss & helped for our hard of hearing relative. Thanks. The meal service was very friendly , tho I didn’t find the drinks list until later. It was in front of me! Good was good , we had a variety of dishes starters, mains & desert. All done well. Good selection of non alcoholic drinks where needed. First time in the White Horse for years. Well worth it & very nice. Thanks to the staff.

September 2024Beautiful refurbishment and everything finished to a high quality. All staff are lovely and helpful but training feels like a gap, we have been here multiple times and there always seems to be a small issue. All worked out and staff wanted to help but things don’t feel seamless and co-ordinated
