Set at the head of Dorking’s famed High Street, amidst the rolling Hills of the North Downs and Surrey’s world-famous Denbies Vineyard Estate, The White Horse was restored to its former Dickensian glory following a £4 million refurbishment in 2018. Combined with 56 en-suite bedrooms, 3 function spaces, extensive dining facilities including The Dozen restaurant and bar concept (inspired by Charles Dickens (who was reported to have written some of the Pickwick papers whilst staying here many years ago) showcases classic cocktails, local ales and wines make it a perfect venue for meetings and events in Surrey.

The Pickwick room is a semi private space located on the ground floor and is ideal for meetings, events
and functions. It has natural daylight and is adjacent to the cafe and bar.

We celebrated an 80th birthday with a party of 10 last night Everyone said how much they enjoyed it and how delicious the food was. Apart from my wife and I none of them had been before but by the end of the evening they all said they would like to come back. The two boys in the party 11and 9 were asking their mother when they would be coming back. If ever there was an endorsement that was one. We compliment your chefs the food was well cooked well prepared and well presented. The servers were excellent especially our main server, Archie , he was brilliant with a sense of fun, polite, helpful and very personable. We wish him well in his future travels and hope he returns to the hotel. The atmosphere was brilliant and so relaxing Thank you Archie for making our experience memorable. Peter and Sue

We have had a number of meals here since it opened and the quality of food and service has improved each time. It is dog friendly too. They have good offers to entice us to come back and whether a Sunday Roast, mid week lunch or evening meal it has always been an enjoyable visit. Staff are friendly and efficient. We live locally so have not stayed here.

This is undoubtably our favourite restaurant in the area and we have tried many. We are regularly here for Saturday and Sunday lunches, use it to celebrate family birthdays and events. What we really like is that it is reliably excellent - have never had anything other than friendly and attentive service and wonderful food.

Went for lunch and absolutely loved it. From first greeting the staff were great, the room was warm and comfortable with a nice atmosphere. The food was delicious, freshly cooked and quality ingredients, way above normal pub food standards. I would highly recommend the Guinea fowl starter and the pheasant main. All cooked to perfection. Sadly we were too full to have dessert but the ones I saw looked amazing so next time I won’t have a starter!
