A meeting place in the heart of Ascot for over 140 years, now this historic building has been refurbished, remade and redesigned. A place where the past meets the present, where log fires meet Mediterranean-inspired food, where cask ales meet wood fired pizza. It’s also where we’ve made a hotel with 24 beautiful guest rooms each with bespoke, contemporary interiors. This is the new Royal Foresters of Ascot.

Come through the main entrance, beautifully framed with wisteria, and arrive into our fully restored original bar with two period fireplaces. Through a brand new glazed extension on the east side, we offer a charming view onto a landscaped terrace and freshly planted beer garden.

The restaurant boasts an open kitchen, a hallmark of the Oakman collection, where our chefs can be observed creating freshly prepared dishes, using the highest quality, responsibly sourced ingredients. As well as meat, fish and pasta favourites, diners can also delight in a great range of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options, along with daily seasonal specials.

Wedding receptions, birthday celebrations and a variety of other functions are easily catered for, with room for 60 seated guests, both inside and outside, on the terrace surrounded by fresh plants. Whatever the occasion, our enthusiastic and talented team will make it a memorable one.

We recently had a weekend away and couldn’t have asked for a better spot! Our room was super comfy with a spacious layout and even a mini fridge stocked with free water—such a nice touch. The service was top-notch too; our waitress at both dinner and breakfast was so attentive. We came mainly for the food, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. I’d highly recommend this place if you're looking for a lovely stay!

I had the best dinner this evening at the Royal Foresters. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm, inviting smile from a beautiful waitress. The exquisite service, it seemed, had only just begun. The meal itself looked fantastic—a beautifully prepared main course that was only outshone by an even more beautiful woman serving it. Succulent, luscious, and mouth-watering, the food didn’t taste too bad either. Jess truly made my ordinary evening special. Every time she returned to my table, it felt like the room brightened just a little bit more. Her presence was nothing short of spectacular, and she made me feel like I was the only person in the world. Jess knew exactly when to check in and give the best recommendations, which elevated the entire dining experience. I couldn’t stop myself from gazing at the way she carried herself across the room—effortless, with the utmost grace. Thank you, Jess. Tonight wasn’t just a meal; it was an enchanting experience.

Had a nice meal here recently. The food was nice enough but my £30 steak was a little short if I’m honest. Just did not hit the value mark. My wife seemed happy enough as well.

My family and I had lunch at The Royal Forester today. I have been here before knew they are decent. I was impressed by the fact that they had a table free considering we have not booked in advance. It was around the bar and had to order at the bar ..this was ok with us ! The place was buzzing, almost full of customers, nice atmosphere with Christmas music and nice decorations. Staff were friendly and polite. The service was prompt .. we have ordered Sunday roast. My daughter had kids chicken roast meal, my wife beef and I had the chicken. My meal was hot, nice and tasty, but I had very little gravy and could have had a few more veggies .. My wife said the beef was not done properly and she has only a few bits.. my daughter’s chicken looked uncooked. We had roast dinner before but today our meal was under average. I was expecting a better meal from this place. Overall it was ok, I liked the music and atmosphere. Food could have been better but I guess we can’t have it all when so busy!

Pretty shocking experience all in all. Unfortunately, there was a private event on at the same night and our table was next to the function room. With no acoustic absorption we had to shout the entire night to be heard. I hate to think what those who say on the adjoining wall. Service was slow throughout the evening. One of three starters arrived burnt. I ordered the £30 sirloin mid rare which arrived blue. Politely asked for it to be cooked and they kindly refired a new steak however, it came back even rarer than the first time. The chef clearly has no idea what he's doing when it comes to steak. The staff were nice enough to take it off the bill but for the price of the evening and the overall service and quality of food, not a good experience and won't be going back.
