A meeting place in the heart of Ascot for over 140 years, now this historic building has been refurbished, remade and redesigned. A place where the past meets the present, where log fires meet Mediterranean-inspired food, where cask ales meet wood fired pizza. It’s also where we’ve made a hotel with 24 beautiful guest rooms each with bespoke, contemporary interiors. This is the new Royal Foresters of Ascot.
Come through the main entrance, beautifully framed with wisteria, and arrive into our fully restored original bar with two period fireplaces. Through a brand new glazed extension on the east side, we offer a charming view onto a landscaped terrace and freshly planted beer garden.
The restaurant boasts an open kitchen, a hallmark of the Oakman collection, where our chefs can be observed creating freshly prepared dishes, using the highest quality, responsibly sourced ingredients. As well as meat, fish and pasta favourites, diners can also delight in a great range of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options, along with daily seasonal specials.
Wedding receptions, birthday celebrations and a variety of other functions are easily catered for, with room for 60 seated guests, both inside and outside, on the terrace surrounded by fresh plants. Whatever the occasion, our enthusiastic and talented team will make it a memorable one.

August 2024⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional dining experience! The service was top-notch, with staff who are both attentive and welcoming. The food was outstanding—every dish bursting with flavor. The ambiance is warm and inviting. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a memorable meal. I'll definitely be back! Many thanks to Linda P for the superb service and charm.

October 2024Just enjoyed a brilliant evening with great food and top-notch service! Jess was an absolute star, making us feel so welcome and ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The Smoked Salmon Fishcake and Gammon, Egg & Chips were delicious and such great value for money. And that Apple & Cinnamon Crumble? So filling and tasty! Can’t recommend this place enough for a lovely night out!

August 2024My stay at this hotel was absolutely fantastic! The cleanliness throughout the entire hotel is impressive, from the rooms to the public areas. The rooms themselves are not only amazing but also spotlessly clean and offer plenty of comfort. I especially want to highlight the bar – the selection of drinks and the service are top-notch! And the breakfast? Simply unbeatable! There’s a huge variety of fresh and delicious food that makes every morning a highlight. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return!

October 2024This was a birthday celebration for my mother in law. Had a horrible first experience. Food was not something to scream about - tough and over cooked. We was offered drinks and this took ages to come, we asked for water 3 TIMES ! We was not offered drinks again and could not find anyone to serve us therefore my mother in law had to go to the bar in the restaurant with table service to order drinks. Was not brilliant for disabled guests. Too busy to push a wheel chair through and the staff was not very accommodating. Two deserts was ordered but they had ran out of this particular desert. Instead of telling us and asking us if we would want anything else. They chose for us and the guests was not happy. Would not recommend for the price point of this restaurant. Embarrassing birthday meal to save the least !

October 2024Lovely venue, lovely waiting staff, shame it was let down by the very average and overpriced food. We went for Sunday Lunch and the Roast Beef was very tough, the vegetarian pie was 5/10 at best, the childrens Roast Chicken was bland, and the desserts were obviously mass produced, freezer then microwave crap. Very disappointing.
