Had a fantastic spa weekend at The Old Thorns Spa & Resort! The venue was absolutely lovely, with excellent spa facilities that made for a truly relaxing experience. The gym was impressively large—bigger than any other spa hotel I’ve visited before, which was a great bonus. The overall atmosphere was welcoming, and everything was well-maintained. I’ll definitely be coming back again! Highly recommend.

16 men. 2 days of golf. 1 nights stay. Room was excellent. Much better than I expected. Food which was included in the stay, evening meal faultless. Breakfast was ok but could have been better. The course.. although I've played it before, it was tough. Breezed the front nine both days, back nine was very tough. The only let down really was bar prices and buggy prices. Very expensive but didn't dampen the overall experience

Stayed at old thorns last night which was a package deal. Spa treatment, 2 course meal and over night stay. Arrived at 1pm and the room was ready which was great. Check in wasn’t till 3pm. The massage was lovely and the surrounds felt to be very pleasant. The room was spotless and felt very comfortable. Dinner felt very rushed but the food was good. Booked in for 6 and was gone but 6:45z started came out quick and plate cleared. Less than 5 minutes later the main arrived which gave me no time to digest the starter. Breakfast. What a disappointment. Eggs were hard, plates cold, toast stale, sausages tasteless and hash browns burnt. The breakfast put me off visiting again as it’s not that cheap to stay at

Came for 1 night spa break. Pros Carvery and breakfast had excellent choices and was good quality. Staff friendly, helpful and provided good customer service. Room was adequate and bed was massive and comfortable, although decor dated and windows didn't open more than an inch. It was very hot all night, despite less than 5 degees outside. Cons Restaurant Sunday night had loud and drunk golfers in behaving like they were on a stag do. Breakfast also had a number of loud men in attendance. Spa was adequate, although some aspects out of order and both spas were not very warm. Express Pedicure was only file and Polish. There are steps and stairs all over the hotel, not great for people with mobility issues. I doubt I would return.

Don't recommend the spa at all. We paid £190 EACH for the spa day package which is comparable to places like Champneys, Nirvana etc but omg it was awful and not worth the price at all. I am far from a 'fancy' person but the price is ridiculous. It's a leisure centre, not a spa. There were kids playing in the pool, the sunbeds were mouldy and wet, there was noone clearing towels etc away so you never knew if beds were taken. The 'hot' tubs were cold, not mild, literally cold. My sisters and I are absolute water babies and none of us got in the pool, that just says it all. Then the 'relaxing' rooms were so far away, you had to go through barriers, walk down a corridor of hotel rooms, through the main reception and to them and they were just rooms with some comfy loungers, nothing special. The cavery was nice but awkward being the only ones in dressing gowns. Out of 4 of us, 2 had nice treatments and the other 2 didn't have great experiences. The staff were all perfectly nice, although not overly helpful. Avoid for a spa day!
