Guildford Harbour Hotel, Exclusive Hire

I recently stayed at the Harbour Hotel and had a mixed experience. The highlights of my stay were certainly the reception staff, who were exceptional. From the moment I arrived, they were warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful, providing excellent customer service that made a great first impression. The room itself was clean, well-presented, and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was particularly comfortable, and I appreciated the modern, tasteful decor that created a pleasant atmosphere. However, there were a few aspects of my stay that could have been improved. The bar service was particularly disappointing, with staff seeming inattentive and unengaged, even though the bar wasn’t particularly busy. I had to wait for quite a while before being acknowledged, and it felt like the staff were more focused on other tasks than serving customers. Another downside was the shower in my room. While it was very clean, it was exceptionally small, which made it uncomfortable to use, especially if you're someone who values space in the bathroom. It felt cramped, and I couldn’t help but wish it had been a bit more spacious for a more pleasant experience. On a more positive note, the breakfast at the Harbour Hotel was fabulous. There was a great variety of options, from freshly prepared hot items to a wide selection of cold options, all of which were delicious. The cooked breakfast was perfectly done, and everything was piping hot. The breakfast staff were attentive and made sure the buffet was well-stocked and running smoothly. It was definitely a highlight of my stay. Overall, while the Harbour Hotel offers great service at reception and a superb breakfast, there are areas like bar service and bathroom facilities in rooms that could use some attention.

The best hotel in central Guildford, but has some flaws. The public areas are well designed and modern, the hotel also has a spa pool which I didn't visit. However the main issue for me was the room. The window was frosted and permanently locked and the room temperature control didn't work making it unpleasantly warm and humid. Some of the furniture was also starting to look a little worn. The bathroom however was large and modern.
