Stayed in the garden room suite. Amazing room but there were things I was not happy about. Cobwebs hanging down from the ceiling above the patio doors, blood stain on the pillow protector( showing through the pillow slip) and very stained lampshades on the wonderful bedside lamps. We also had another guest trying to get into our room from the private garden, she was lost. The breakfast was lovely, location good but unlikely to stay again

Stopped for a light lunch and the food was lovely. I had a cheddar cheese salad with a hazelnut dressing and my guest had flame grilled mackerel. Both were equally good, fresh and tasty. I did feel that portion sizes could have been a little larger especially the cheddar salad. The property looked lovely but inside it looked a little tired and in need of a little tlc. The staff were friendly and service was with a smile which is always a big plus. All in all a good place to stop and I would return to try more of their food choices.

Arrived 14.30, room wasn't ready due to previous guests late check out. Decided to eat in Millys bistro while we waited. We were caught out by the service charge which made lunch a bit expensive. However the food was nice. Room was OK, but certainly not worth the price I'd paid. We were in room 14. Along side a very busy main road. Traffic noise all night long. Hot taps in bathroom both need new washers as were dripping all night. Reported to the front desk but receptionist didn't take any notice. 🤔 Breakfast was OK. Had to ask for sugar for our cereal as non on the table or breakfast buffet. Food on the whole was good quality, but the portions were on the small side and the bacon was slightly over cooked, but that is just my preference.

Nice stay, but was not blown away. Booked the DBB package and was asked to pay the invoice on arrival, was then sent an invoice for the evening meal. Asked the waitress if there was a set menu for the package and was told there was an allowance? Queried at reception during checkout, reception didn't seem to understand and went through what we had eaten stating the allowance was for two courses and we had sides as well, I asked if the sides were considered a course after we were told to pay for dessert. she agreed and then charged for the sides. The staff were polite, clueless and came across as if they were doing you a favour particularly at check in and in the restaurant. I think some training in hospitality is overdue and then they can justify the service charges. The food was okay, breakfast was a bit pompous, more mushroom that bacon (surely they could provide a nice slice of back bacon) and the portion sizes were quite small. The building is lovely, we stayed in the attic room with only a bath and burn marks on the day bed cover. We wouldn't return unfortunately or recommend to friends or family.
