We stayed in the bridal suite for our wedding anniversary, which is a very good price for such a big room, it has a separate living room, four poster bed and a jacuzzi tub. We loved the jacuzzi! It was well presented and clean. The only down side to the room was the bed. It was very uncomfortable, definitely needs a new mattress. The food was pleasant enough, though on the pricey side for what you get. The first staff member we met wasn't the friendliest, can not recall her name but she was on reception, just gave the impression she didn't want to talk or be there. Though this was made up for by the staff in the morning, they were great, friendly and smiley! We had a great stay, we would definitely come back. Thank you 😊

Lovely location, beautiful old building. Needs a little bit of TLC. The toilet needed persuading to flush. Our windows opened out to a roof where there was abandoned scrap metal. Get down to Breakfast early. It was a bit chaotic, at 9.15, no tables for 4, no pastries, waiting for eggs, no cutlery. Even the coffee machine was broken. The staff were brilliant though. Would go back if I was in the area again

It’s an ok hotel. They could do themselves a favour and just tidy up a few things, like mould or drink stains on lamp shades, change the taps when bits are missing. Cleaning leaves a bit to be desired. Breakfast is ok, nothing special, the go to comparison is a premier inn, it’s below that (orange and apple juice “drink”, ie not pure juice, cheap condiments etc.). Would I stay again? Yes. But desperately need EV chargers (like the Spread Eagle has) the car park is massive, no need to book or reserve a “space”. They have literally hundreds of solar panels so are doing the right thing environmentally, just need to go that extra mile.

Great wedding venue, terrible place to spend the night. The wedding part of the hotel and toilets are all newly refurbished and stunning. The actual hotel part though is one of the worst I've ever stayed in. Mould around the bath, ripped stained curtains, dust everywhere, old damaged furniture, dead flies and spiders. All rooms are in major need of a refurb. The area for breakfast is small with not much choice. The food at the wedding was lovely. I'd highly recommend as a wedding venue but tell guests to stay somewhere else until the rooms are brought up to the same standard!
