Great hotel of you are attending the Royal Hallamshire Hospital (literally 5 minute walk away). Rooms are comfy, nothing fancy, and in the process of refurbished. It is an old building so lots of stairs be aware when you are booking. Staff were lovely, and any questions I had were sorted right away. Great breakfast choice of continental or full English. I would book again if attending the hospital in the future.

Overall a ok hotel close to the University and Hospital ideal for what we needed. Hotel clean but decor and rooms dated and could do with update...but then the price would go up. The rooms are not the easiest to get to up and down small flights of stairs and easy to make a wrong turn. Staff all very helpful and do help with any problems. Breakfast was very good all cooked to order and set us up nicely for a day of up and down the hills in Sheffield. Only gave 3 stars as we had problems with water pressure and also no power at one point. Didn't last long but both unwelcome.

Room clean - the room was not shown on website / was against a wall so you could only get in one side. Good shower however it soaked the bathroom as there was no door on the shower. However this all paled into insignificance. We were woken at 6.30 am as someone let themselves into our room. We informed reception who asked who it was! I emailed the hotel - the email I received back said they had checked cctv and saw nothing - at no time did a manager take the time to ring / the second email confirmed cctv did not cover where are room was! I was offered a 50% reduction on our next stay / who want s to stay in a hotel where you are not safe in your own room when the door is locked / serious security issue I believe. .

Review for The Rutland Hotel (2-Night Stay) During my recent 2-night stay at The Rutland Hotel, I experienced both positives and negatives that future guests may want to consider. Pros: • The hotel’s location is excellent, just a short walk from the city centre and local transport options, making it convenient to explore the area. • Uber pickups were frequent, which made getting around very easy. • The hotel does offer parking, but the car park is quite small and charged at a daily rate. I found parking on the nearby side streets to be a better and cheaper option. Cons: • The staff at check-in were very friendly, but unfortunately, I had to move rooms due to the bathroom door not having a lock and being unable to close properly. • The rooms felt very outdated and in need of refurbishment. Noise from the hallways and stairs was also an issue, which disturbed my sleep. • The WiFi in the room was unreliable, with only 1 bar of signal that would frequently drop out. • There were no power outlets near the bed, which was inconvenient for charging devices overnight. • The bathroom was cramped, with no shelving or storage space, and the toilet was positioned awkwardly close to the shower glass, making it uncomfortable to use. While the hotel’s location is great, the outdated rooms and lack of basic amenities like reliable WiFi and bathroom space made my stay less comfortable than expected.

First of all , which hotel charges their guests for parking ? GREED ? The room was warm and clean BUT as quite a few reviews over the years have stated that shins are caught when walking around the bed, glad we aren't the only ones. Pipe work not complete and large holes in ceiling, this was reported over 5 years ago. Power supply left near bed that once ran lights around the window ? Very uncomfortable mattresses. Window can't be opened more than 4 inches, and those security lights in back yard on ALL night. I'm 6ft and my feet did not reach the floor whilst sitting on loo ? Bizarre ! My wife is 5 1/2 foot tall and could swing her legs like a child ?? Toilet seat loose and bracing bar on shower screen hanging off ? Soo glad it was only for 1 night. 😞
