Wonderful Airbnb experience. The bed was king size and comfortable with a giant rainfall shower. Nice to have a fridge in the room too. The grounds and views are stunning. Look out for the gorgeous Newfoundland on meet & greet and she might even join you for a morning coffee outside. Jacuzzi was a bonus after a long day walking. Highly recommend and thank you Anna, look forward to returning.

Pleasant staff food was lovely. Had the sweetest carrot I ever tasted. The hog roast was really good. Only downside was the price of drinks £6.50 for a can of Guinness.

AirBnb guests beware! We booked a room here (Famau) as part of our honeymoon road trip via AirBnb. At first, the responsiveness from Anna was friendly and accommodating, but this quickly turned sour. After giving her plenty of notice of our arrival, we turned up at 9pm to discover a room that was totally unsatisfactory for a 4 night stay. The bed was so uncomfortable, it felt as though the mattress hadn't been changed in over 10 years! The springs were digging into our backs as soon as we lay down, the mini fridge buzzed loudly (that was turned off straight away) and the angle of the TV made watching anything pretty impossible, unless you wanted to sit directly in front of it on hard wooden chairs. We instantly knew we couldn't even handle one night here, let alone four, so at 9.30pm, thoroughly disappointed, we went over to reception to try to get a better room - something I have never done before. Perhaps we were a bit spoiled, having just come from a 3* hotel in York, but the description on AirBnb said "luxury accommodation" so that's what we were expecting, and why we had kept the "best" for last! Although the reception door was locked, we noticed a woman watching TV just inside, so assuming this was Anna, we knocked politely. To our surprise she told us she was Anna's mum and that our host didn't even live on site (a bit surprising considering Anna had told us she would leave the key to our room in our door, herself). We politely asked if we could change rooms and were made to feel very uncomfortable about simply making this request as it was insinuated that there was nothing wrong with the room. We were then told that all rooms were fully booked until Sunday, and basically told to go to bed. That was the last straw. We tried and failed to contact Anna again, packed our bags, and headed out into the night to find somewhere suitable to stay. Not the honeymoon we had dreamed of - but at least we have a story (not "funny" yet - but maybe with time...) to tell the grandchildren. *update* Since reaching out to Anna, suggesting she change the mattress and update the listing on AirBnb to remove the word "luxury", we have still not receieved any partial refund - remember, we didn't even stay one night! - and have actually been told that some people "love the mattress so much they have asked where to buy one for themselves"... So I doubt they will be changing this any time soon.
