I visited the leisure centre and used the sauna and steam room. Having tried various saunas and steam rooms, I was impressed with both. Cleanliness is good both in the common areas and in the changing rooms with staff regularly mopping. Locker facilities good, coin operated. Pool looked a nice size and layout, and very clean also. I wouldn’t hesitate to return on another day pass, and would maybe try the gym too next time.

Stayed here last week . We were left waiting for check-in as our room wasn’t available . Told to wait in the bar , 30minutes later room was available . Didn’t occur to them to offer us tea while we waited ? Room looked lovely , bed was comfy - had a thick mattress topper . Tv rather small for the size of the room . Health and safety would have a field day with the bathroom though ! I was appalled and furious . Husband took a shower and there was an almighty clatter - he simply turned round under the shower head and flew out of the tub ! Crashed onto the floor , through the glass divider thing - thankfully it didn’t break - he landed hitting his head on the side of the toilet and his whole body smashed onto the floor . No bath mats are provided - a tiny slip of paper says you can get one from reception ! These should be left in the tub ! You couldn’t even take a bath without it as it obviously so slippery ! And there are NO bath handles whatsoever - so extremely dangerous trying to get out whether you’re showering or having a bath! In this day and age I’m appalled at a basic thing being missing ! Hotel was clean , staff very polite . Breakfast was more than ample. Nicely cooked and topped up often . Swimming pool was lovely and warm , changing facilities rather small , most of the lockers are broken . Men’s changing facilities are open plan so if you’re a man taking your child in to get changed ?? Steam room and sauna were both lovely . Someone was mopping water constantly- which was good to see . Tea and coffee station was a nice touch .

Liked · Easy to find, good breakfast spread and easily accessible parking spaces. In terms of location, it is in a great spot and close to public transport links. The staff members we interacted with were all kind and polite. Disliked · We found the hotel easily. When we checked in, we were told the reservation didn't include breakfast and would need to pay an additional £100 to cover these meals. We were also told the room upgrade I had requested before our arrival hadn't been processed. It wasn't clear from our booking with booking.com if we had already paid for breakfast so we had to pay. We were given our room key and directed to our room with chewed gum on the wall by the door. We dropped off our bags and went to visit family. When we returned, the room was cold and we were unable to find a thermostat to turn the temperature up. Front desk told us to turn up the radiator. We did but it offered no heat - it needed to be bled. We were told we could be moved to a room with working heat but when we called back to make these arrangements we were told the WiFi in the hotel had gone down and no room moves could happen until the internet was back up. We were brought a portable heater. We were moved to a room in a different part of the hotel with a much smaller bed and a fair amount of mold around the bath. It was a fine stay but I would suggest you check the details carefully before you get there. We also had reservations for the Christmas meal. Presented well but it was generally quite poor and pretty bland. Quite disappointing considering the cost of the meals

Dreadful experience. The room - Club King - was tiny, dirty, and very run down, including kettle and tv remote not working. Leisure facilities are very poor and changing rooms are small and not clean. Towels are charged for and had run out when I visited. You need a £1 coin to use lockers. Staff were unhelpful and couldn't offer adequate solutions to problems. Definitely not a 4 star hotel - 3 stars at best.
