We went for an afternoon tea - our friends invited us. The service was exceptional, very friendly and cosy atmosphere. The food was delicious with a wide variety of teas, savoury and sweet options. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed in two of the classic rooms in the older part of the hotel. The rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated. The bathrooms were large and well laid out. Downsides were that the rooms are a little worn around the edges and have no air conditioning. It was a very hot stay with only a fan and one small window in each room. The bathroom shower had a very large crack right across the shower tray that had been poorly repaired and the water pooled, as the drain was ineffective. The bathroom lighting is also very dim, which was source of frustration to my girls putting on their make-up! Service was friendly but seemed a little disorganised.

It is technically a 5 star hotel but don’t be fooled. The cheaper rooms are in a different building around the back that is more like a travelodge style place. The rooms are absolutely fine but not worth the money you pay for a place like this. You do have access to all of the nice features of the main building. The facilities are great and so is the breakfast but it’s definitely not worth the cost.

Fantastic location close to everything. However, this is definitely more of a 3-4 start hotel. Rooms were tired, service staff pretty uninterested, little information available in rooms, milk left in mini fridge was off. But the worst part for us was that the rooms were roasting hot! There is no AC and although the outside temps were relatively mild, inside the hotel was like a furnace, you couldn’t get away from it. They provided two fans for the room and apparently all central heating had been turned off.. but something not quite right. Probably a good place to stay for cooler months.
