We had a lovely and interesting time at the Royal Mint. Our tour guide Katie was lovely and very friendly, sweet with our kids who of course had all the oddest questions. We struck our very own 50p piece which was very exciting, and had a good time exploring the museum at our own pace. Definitely book your tour in advance.

Interesting way to spend an hour or two for all ages - Tom was an excellent tour guide and managed a large tour well with enthusiasm and good humour. The view of the factory area were limited but great to see, and opportunity to strike your own coin (caution, it's much cheaper to do this than to buy in the gift shop after - we skipped doing the strike your own as it was a big tour group and was taking a long time for everyone to have a go thinking that we would buy one later, but ended up not!). Tour finishes in the exhibition area, which is well done including some interactive exhibits. If doing the tour, would suggest 1.5-2 hours for a visit. Small but nice gift shop and on-site cafe too.

We paid for the experience package by pressing our own 50p and afternoon tea. The tour was informative. We got to go into the factory, although nothing was running. Then press our own 50p. While it's all automated, it was fun and a keepsake. Afternoon tea was lovely. Tablecloths and China for tea. Ample food and lovely cakes. A nice trip on a rainy day.

attended a fun day for kids in the carpark so not much to say really as only went into the reception area. however as reception areas go the cafe looked nice and the coins used to make the sculptures are interesting. also nice to see a million £1 pound coins in a glass box.
