March 2025We enjoyed a lovely break, meeting up with friends at the Mercure Thame. Staff were friendly and attentive, even when busy; a special call out for Philip who was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The dining at night, in the Kite Restaurant, was excellent. The Lamb was perfectly prepared. Breakfast was buffet style and the scrambled eggs were great. The arrangement of the buffet area would be improved with an additional coffee/tea machine to avoid awkward queuing in a restricted space. Location is great for a range of nearby National Trust sites. A really enjoyable short stay which was excellent value for money. Will definitely consider visiting again.

February 2025Our room was lovely, really nice and clean. The staff was really welcoming and friendly and the food was amazing đź‘Ź my fiance had beef brisket and was totally impressed . I had the chicken takiyaki and rice the flavour and chicken so nice. The drinks were reasonable priced and they definitely know how to make a good long island ice tea lol the breakfast in the morning had everything you could want, nice hot full English, or cereals, toast etc which you help yourself . Plenty of car park space and it wasn't a noisy location or hotel . We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely come back.

January 2025we were late takers of the breakfasts ( 08:45 onwards ) and found that the fruit juice was gone and the coffee machine did not work properly every day. Choice of food was very good, cooked, cereals, continental all available. all in all a very quiet, restful stay.

February 2025The bedroom we were in had a filthy carper, covered in large stains and I was bitten around the ankles. I think perhaps the room was used for guests with dogs. The corridor outside had no heating and the room itself was freezing and the air blowing thermostat although working, did not bring heat in and probably set up elsewhere to only come on at certain times. I know this as my husband a retired buildings engineer. The bed was clean but the carpet as well as being badly stained, was not hoovered We observed 3 guests used drinks glasses sat on a corridor shelf the duration of our stay. The bathrooms have no heat and we had no shampoo etc in our empty containers screwed to the shower wall. The bathroom was clean but the toilet was letting by all night. There was nothing to hold onto to get in and out the shower. No hand shower attachment and no plastic shower caps as only pan head shower. The entrance to this hotel is, by contrast, nicely decorated, heated and welcoming. The linens were stored in a shipping container with doors left open to the corridor. The corridor hallway carpet too had large stains. All in all, with possible flee bites as our parting gift, this is the worst hotel we have stayed in. We booked through Travelzoo and will think twice about doing that again.
