Stunning grounds, my son absolutely loved the stream/river, and spent most of the time paddling up and down catching small fish in a net. Our pitch was nice and had electric hook up. The toilets and showers were pretty good condition, I can see some comments that they get busy but we had no problems the weekend we went. The staff were lovely. Overall a good stay and good value.

Visited the campsite here as a first for us and the kids! Absolutely loved it! The lady that owns the site is so lovely. She was happy to help with everything we needed whilst there and helped us with an extension with the electric hook-up. The site itself is so nice, all amenities are close by and luckily with the two little ones we were pitched close to the toilets over the path. In short, would we return again? Of course! We loved our 2 night stop over!

We had a lovely stay here, its perfect for the kids. Very relaxed, beautiful scenery and a great place to stay if you are wanting to just stay put because the kids are busy all day. Just make sure you have tons of clothes or a wetsuit for them. Showers and toilets could be better but it's a campsite, and I've definitely seen much worse! We always had hot water to shower and there were never big queues for showers of toilets. Be careful of dog poo - I've stayed at the site twice and both times seen poo in my area whilst putting the tent up (the first time I actually put my tent on some poo that that been picked up but had left a residue that stank and needed cleaning. I don't have a dog so maybe am more bothered by this than everyone else. My only real problem here was with other campers and I think the campsite could just set some small rules that would make it a 5 star + place. We found that a very small number of huge tents set up camp by the little river, as if they then owned that section of river. This is the best bit of river to get in and out, and is shallow enough for paddling and has small stepping stones going across. Two giant tents had set up by the river, making a wall behind with their cars, so my kids could only really access the water by the the swings, which were steeper and really muddy/slippery, and the water was deeper, so they couldn't really paddle and always had to get fully soaked (above waist height). It also meant I couldn't really relax at my tent because they were always in deep water and they couldn't go in as often as they wanted. If there was a rule of leaving a couple of metres free by the water that would really help because it is such a great asset that needs to be shared. The little play area and zip line/swing over the water are fantastic for the kids and the small bar area is handy for anyone wanting a drink. We will definitely be back!

The campsite itself is beautiful and has great potential the pretty clear stream flowing is excellent and the kids love it. Chickens roaming free are funny and entertaining. Easy to find and lots to do locally. That's the good points. £10 per night for electric on a two man tent is far too high. The main ladies toilets with 1 shower and two toilets is out of order. Due to a slow leak that's rotted the floor I was told. Access was provided for a shower and X1 toilet above the garage that was tiny and in great need of a clean and damp repair. I counted about 43 women Inc children for the one shower and The downstairs accessible toilet again was filthy and really smelly like a gents pub toilet. We were stopping for 3 nights but left after two. Slow service on the reception and bar area by pressing a door bell for attention. The big skip overflowing was a rat and fly holiday park. It is a beautiful place and the potential is excellent but it's not worth £35 a night at all. It would be if there were enough amenities and everything was clean and maintained well. I have stopped here before in my campervan and it was the same then but not as busy so the lack of amenities wasn't an issue.
