Rachel and her team at the Barn Hotel exceeded my expectations and made my 3 night stay a wonderful and relaxing experience. Brad on reception was so attentive, Jane and Elsa are a credit to the restaurant and Will, Jack and Tamara were amazing in the Health club. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking to get away and relax. Keep up the great work guys and will be back soon when I need to recharge. All the best...

The hotel staff were amazing, the venue and food were incredible. The staff honestly made our weekend, thank you. The room was spacious and loved the large bath. Tea, coffee, kettle, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, tv and trouser press in the room. Definitely stay again.

Had a superior twin room which was great, large bedroom, a separate sitting area (strangely no TV) and a good size bathroom with both a shower and a whirlpool (unexpected) bath. The leisure club was compact but well equipped and clean, lovely (smallish)! swimming pool. Stayed on a Monday so the restaurant was closed, but a food was available on the bar, we ordered fish & chips and a burger, both were of good quality and generous portions. Breakfast the following morning was buffet style with a good choice of both hit and cold food. All the staff were helpful and friendly, would definitely stop here again

Went to the hotel for a reunion. Staff brilliant. Room lovely but need bringing up to date with decor. The bathroom had some mould in the shower. Some walls were damaged and marked. In the leisure area, some showers were broken. Hotel very warm. We needed a car to get to other locations as it's miles from Newark and Grantham. No bus route. Overall, it just needs some TLC. To smarten it up again.

Mixed bag. The family room was very tired and old fashioned; it had poor quality furnishings and tatty sheets and all the electrical points are on the opposite side of the room to the bed. Glad it wasn’t hot despite it being mid July as the room was very stuff. Generally clean though. Perhaps there are more modern rooms elsewhere? The communal areas are similar; in dire need of an update and new furniture. I only sampled one food/drink item; coffee from the bar - it was terrible. There was a wedding on when we stayed; depending on which room you get you might find this keeps you awake. The pool is excellent and kids are allowed in at all times, although no diving or jumping etc which is fair enough as it is part of the gym. The massage service is also fantastic, one of the best I’ve had and great value. On balance I probably wouldn’t stay here again but it’s far from the worst hotel I’ve ever been to.
