I'm not usually a fan of board games as I get bored quite easily but I really enjoyed my visit on a rainy afternoon. We played two games and I actually really enjoyed it. We also shared a pizza and had some lovely ice cream milkshakes. The games were in excellent condition and the venue was tidy and clean. Will be back again soon! We played Lost Cities and Fifth Avenue.

We called in here while spending the weekend in Nottingham and we enjoyed our time there. We found that the staff were very friendly and patient when explaining all the information about the place to us as first time visitors. There is a seated area which acts primarily as a cafe but with a handful of board games they can be played for free and this could be a nice option for a family killing time. Then there is a larger playing area behind this with a library of games to choose from and which you pay for your time there. We found the choice of games overwhelming as people who do not know too much board games. Perhaps it could be useful to have some suggestions for people? (Eg. Top 5 games based on reactions, top 5 co-op games, top 5 strategy, top 5 quick play). Once we'd chosen our games we didn't have much time to play it as Pandemic takes a while to learn and set up on your first go but we enjoyed it all the same. The food was reasonable for a quick snack, maybe a little overpriced for what it is, considering paninis didn't come with a salad just a few nachos. But a nice selection of cakes and teas to go with it. Also the place stayed open until 11 when we visited on Saturday so it's a great option for a night out if you're not looking to drink or dance and just want a place to have fun and conversation with friends. Be sure to make a bit of extra time to sign up and become a member if you're a first time visitor.
