We have an excellent reputation for holding grand occasions and is locally known as “the best wedding venue” in Bedford. With the beautiful surroundings, fantastic first-class service and a licence to hold civil ceremonies, the hotel offers all you could need for a wonderful wedding.
The Barns Hotel offers five well-appointed suites for your wedding. The stunning 13th-century Tithe Barn, with its timber frame and red brick, exudes charm and character. The Barn is both the oldest and largest venue on-site and can accommodate up to 90 seated guests for your celebrations. The light and spacious AA Rosette WineGlass Restaurant is another delightful option for your day. Both the Barn and restaurant have easy access to the wonderful outdoor areas which offer enchanting backdrops for your treasured photos. Alternatively, for a more intimate occasion, we have two smaller suites which boast views over the gardens.

September 2024Absolutely fantastic stay here, despite some issues with Booking.com (not the fault of The Kingfisher staff) David was superbly helpful and attentive with my queries. Room was very nice and comfortable, excellent bathing facilities and would definitely book to stay again. 🌟🌟

June 2024I have been to the Kingfisher for meals with family & friends which have always been great! Tonight I booked it for a work meeting & dinner. Again, I had a great experience & received positive feedback from the other attendees. The staff managing the booking were very efficient & helpful. From arrival through to the meal, the staff were friendly, helpful & obviously well trained. The food & venue were also amazing. Would highly recommend & will definitely be returning.

August 2024Never been before but wish we had! Beautiful place, stunning setting on the rivers edge, a lovely atmosphere, good music. Food was lovely. They also do weddings here in the Barn, apparently up to four a week. It is also a hotel too, the whole place is beautiful. The loos are immaculate!! Four different bars and outside eating which is limited so it's a first come first served basis. The service was a little slow, even though there were plenty of staff. We ordered drinks and they took about 9 minutes to be delivered to the table. A member of staff who was just coming on shift, noticed them on the bar and brought them to our table and apologised for the wait. Other than that, we would absolutely recommend this place.

August 2024Tapas sitting outside are generally great, watching the river. Favourites of ours are the padron peppers, the tater tots topped with pulled pork and the squid. Tried the scallops which did taste great, but £12 for two scallops was disappointing. Staff are friendly, but could do with clearing prior customers glasses and plates off the tables a bit more frequently at weekends.

August 2024Visited first time following recommendations of friends. The area is fantastic, the venue after renovations can cater for functions. I was curious about the dining - restaurant really looks nice. We chose seating outside by the river. I ordered by the bar- the tapas option- order was mixed up- not received one item despite promises it was coming- in the end apologies from the staff that it was not put on the order. Me and my partner had to chase up cutlery, and drink ordering by the bar was hectic- drink brought twice, but forgot to take payment. I will give it another chance despite my disappointment with the service.
