November 2024Oldest hotel in the uk. Very refined for the more mature people. Not a single young person battling to be herd over the next. The location is great. Parking to the rear of the building. The service is very good. The food is award winning. Full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Fantastic.

November 2024Very well positioned hotel in the centre of Norwich, right near the cathedral. Reception staff were very helpful and the staff in the bar and restaurant also superb. I would have to say you are paying a premium for the location rather than the rooms which are quite basic and a little tired, at least in the case of our standard double room. The bar at the hotel is a very traditional pub with limited choice. The restaurant served a very nice meal from it's Rosette Experience tasting menu which we enjoyed. Overall I'd return, as the location is so good making it very convenient for exploring the city.

November 2024It's really good for this type/style of hotel, remember its not a flat packed new one but has lots of history with it. but first. The communication from the hotel before we arrived was Excellent, correct postcode to carpark and other details. Checking in was smooth and simple, and the young man who checked us in brilliant, he was polite, professional & informative could not do enough for us. The room was good, well present and comfortable, everything we needed was in there. The hotel had a nice ambience in lounges and bar. The breakfast was excellent, great choice of everything staff where polite and cleaned the tables as quickly as possible so we'll done there. OK the 2 little niggles are 1, room was quite dusty around glass lampshade and wall lights, only noticed when we returned and turned the light on and just a couple of other little areas around the room but nothing major and I didn't mention it early as they are just very minor points and I understand how hard the housekeeping team work and the little time they get for every room day in day out. (My mum was one for 27 they 2 minor point at breakfast they did run out of a few things but I would put this down to the timing as there was a wedding the night before and all the guests seem to arrive at the same time, but it got sorted quickly. This is genuinely a lovely hotel with great staff so well worth a stay there. I would definitely recommend and return myself.

December 2024Most staff were lovely but Sunday evening and Monday morning it seemed like many were unsure what was going on. Lots was out of stock on Sunday and Monday too unfortunately. There is almost no ventilation in the bathrooms so the water runs down the walls and window. The beds are really comfy. The breakfast usually has good gluten free options. It's a 10-15 min walk to get into city centre. Nice restaurants, pubs, and coffee shops near too.
