Second stay here. We stayed in the dog friendly b and b room last December, loved it and booked for a week in the dog friendly self catering cottage before we checked out. What a lovely experience again. Welcoming our dog is as important as welcoming us. Everyone here is fabulously dog friendly. Our cottage is so comfortable. The beds are fabulously comfy…we are well equipped for doing our own thing. We have full use of the gorgeous gardens and facilities in the hotel. We can book in for their fabulous breakfasts. What they are now doing is 3 course meals, with canapés on 3 nights a week. We availed ourselves yesterday evening. They are fixed menus and we picked the one we felt we would like the most. It was as fabulous as their breakfasts. What a treat. Fresh food, as locally sourced as possible. Beautifully cooked and beautifully served and presented. We only had to cross the courtyard …and what a stunning, unique setting for dinner. Hubby has food intolerances and the chef went out of her way to accommodate. Really recommend this new venture. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and ambience. Great wine list as well. You won’t regret coming here, staying and eating.

A highlight of our Norfolk May half term week - at the end of a dull and rainy day we ventured out for a walk and spontaneously decided to dine at the Mill. The beautiful round room was so warm and inviting, we just couldn't go away! The staff was exceptionally accommodating for our last minute decision and I must say the dinner was just amazing. The cook makes fabulous dishes, every one a work of Art. Fully recommended!

Our wedding at the Cley Windmill was an unforgettable experience. The picturesque setting, with the charming windmill as the backdrop, created an amazing atmosphere. The venue was impeccably decorated, blending rustic charm with elegant details, making every moment feel magical. The staff were exceptionally attentive and ensured everything ran smoothly, they truly went above and beyond. The outdoor ceremony was breathtaking and the indoor reception area was cozy and beautifully lit. The outdoor space was the perfect place to enjoy the afternoon/evening party and was great for the children guests, as we hired a bouncy castle. The hired Marquee provided by the windmill was a great space to do the cake cutting and for the dance floor and DJ. We used a private chef (Avril - Chef 2 Dine 4) and the food was top-notch, I have left a separate review for Avril. The windmill offered a delicious array of dishes that catered to all tastes for breakfast the next day. All our day guests stayed the night in the windmill and we have had only positive feedback, all of the rooms were well equipped, clean, cozy and comfortable. This windmill wedding venue provided a perfect blend of romance and intimacy. The wedding planner assigned to us (Donatas) communicated effectively with us from booking up until the big day and helped to make a naturally stressful process seem like a breeze, Donatas really helped with the legwork. Highly recommended, all of our guests absolutely loved it and have been well looked after by everyone at Cley Windmill!

This has been on my want to stay here list for many many years so we came for 3 nights to celebrate a very large milestone Birthday. The Windmill is a truly enchanting place full of history and of a bygone era. A lovely tranquil place that you very quickly relax and unwind into. A beautiful setting and breathtaking scenery makes for a truly unforgettable stay. We were fortunate to stay in the Dovecote and River Room, both individual and unique, the Dovecote is self catering and outside the windmill while the River Room overlooks the gardens and River with the best view in my opinion being from the porthole bathroom window! We enjoyed the best breakfast we have tasted in a long time and hot choc with choc butterfly cake on a rainy afternoon...just sumptuous. My Husband said that The Chef knows her flavours and blends them expertly. The staff are welcoming, and friendly and create that wonderful experience. They are now doing a set evening menu on Thurs Friday and Saturday. Luncheon on Wednesdays and other themed events are planned. An amazing viewing balcony, superb for watching the starlings coming into roost, a pair of barn owls and Marsh Harrier hunting across the sunset reed beds.....just magical. The car park is not private so be mindful of parking if you need to get somewhere for a certain time. The coastal path runs adjacent to the Dovecote. So is it haunted....A glimmer or shimmer of energy in the Dovecote by a Victorian worker who seems at odds that it is a place to stay.....all peaceful and friendly and retreats to upstairs, and only a sensitive would be aware of this.

A massive thank you to everyone at the mill. We held my daughter and son-in-laws wedding there at the weekend. The wedding planner was amazing and it all ran like clockwork. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and the food that their lovely chef prepared for us was delicious. The rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. I would thoroughly recommend holding a wedding here or staying here. We will be back for another stay soon.
