Urban-luxe meets rural beauty at Swynford Manor, a surprising and delightfully different wedding venue situated near the city of Cambridge.
Beautiful countryside and immaculate green grounds surround Swynford Manor, and as you walk through its doors, you’ll be enveloped in luxury. From the Bridal Preparation Room to the Garden Room and the terrace, you’ll have exclusive access to this refined venue – and who doesn’t want to play lord and lady of the manor on their special day?
Just 20 minutes from Cambridge, Swynford Manor was built in the 1800s and boasts a rich history. Lord Byron was known to stay in the summer, sitting beneath one of the grounds’ trees to write, and King Charles II held his 12-mile horse race on the lane outside.
Swynford Manor is full of wonderful surprises. Off of the magnificent monochrome entrance hall you’ll find the Study and the Drawing Room, flexible spaces you can use as you wish. The Study is perfect for ceremonies and can accommodate up to 100.
The prime reception space, with room for 50-150 guests, is the Garden Room. Imagine windows for walls, a sparkling checkerboard dancefloor, huge velvet wingback chairs, lights adorned with metallic tassels, and beams that juxtapose contemporary design with the manor’s historic, country roots. From here you’ll look out on the stunning grounds – why not invite your guests to spill out into the sunshine?
There’s plenty of space to stay at Swynford Manor too with 13 rooms including the Bridal Suite, which is situated at the top of its own staircase. The suites have striking copper baths, beautiful black carved fireplaces, and huge beds. This is a wedding destination everyone will enjoy...

Best day imaginable, outstanding venue, and fantastic team. We married here in late September in an outdoor ceremony at their beautiful pavilion, a wonderful way to begin the perfect day. Gina (Our coordinator and planner) is simply great to work with, great positive attitude, really hands on, and she ensured everything ran to plan, from our planning meeting to the big day itself. Thank you Gina :) Our wedding was all kinds of amazing and that’s in many ways thanks to you. We also must say a big thank you to Sian Parry and Aimee Livie who also went above and beyond to make our dream day come true, we couldn’t have achieved our many plans without their leadership and guidance. The venue is exclusive use, and it really made a big difference having the whole place to ourselves, and it wasn’t unnoticed by our guests who commented on the personal & exclusive feel of the place being only for us and our wedding. The interior is beautiful, especially so the grand entrance and grand staircase which give a natural wow when you enter, the rooms too are equally as lux. The food is fine dining and the catering and serving staff are all first class. Beautiful cocktail lounge perfect for intimacy, equally the piano lounge is also pure win with a modern chic bar. Best day ever, no regrets, all positives, and thankful to have tied the knot at the perfectly splendid Swynford Manor.

When looking for wedding venues, Swynford Manor was the first once we came to look at. When I showed my new husband it online, he wasn't sure, but the moment we pulled up down the sweeping driveway we fell in love. The second time we came back to view reassured us that it was the place for us, as when we walked out we just couldn't wait to share it with our family. Every staff member we dealt with from the moment we first made contact was excellent. They always had time to answer our questions, no matter how small or complicated. They accommodated for our menu requests regarding allergies, fussy eaters, and my favourite dessert only being on the child's menu (which they still gladly made for me adult portion sized!) Our originally allocated wedding coordinator left in a hurry just a few weeks before our wedding which, naturally, panicked me a little. However Lorna stepped straight in and did a great job. She made the effort to speak with us beforehand to clarify everything and ensure we were all on the same page. On the day she was wonderful at being there at the exact moment whenever we needed her. The whole team on the wedding day were also great - the service was excellent. The food was delicious; every single guest commented on how nice it was. The evening food must have also been excellent as my husband went back for more 3 times (didn't give any to me though unfortunately!). The rooms were stunning too. We got to use the newly refurbished prep room not long after it was done, which was a lovely surprise and even the make up and hair artists commented on how nice it was. The honeymoon suite has excellent lighting for the dress photos and reveals. The beds were so comfortable part of me wishes we could have had more time in the room to enioy it. It was hot the day of our wedding too so the aircon throughout was greatly appreciated. I stayed in the lodge with my bridal party the night before. Sadly, I didn't get the best night's sleep - a mixture of nerves, excitement and an unfamiliar bed for me - but my bridal party said they got a great night's sleep. It is a lovely little place to spend the night before with your select few, and also means you don't need to travel far to start getting ready. The breakfast the day after the wedding was tasty and just what we needed. And even after that day, the staff were great when we had a few forgotten items. When I came back in to collect them, they made the effort to say congratulations again and ask how life was settling down etc. We definitely want to come back for Christmas and charity events to experience the fantastic venue over and over again. Once again, a huge thank you to everyone who we dealt with and all the staff who helped make our wedding day run so perfectly. Photo credit to Mark Nortcliffe

Swynford Manor is a stunning and elegant wedding venue, nestled in the peaceful Cambridgeshire countryside. As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing several weddings here, and I can confidently say it offers a perfect blend of charm, luxury, and flexibility.

We can’t recommend or thank Maddy and Swynford Manor enough! We are chuffed with the venue and how unique it is. It is beautiful on its own but also a perfect blank canvas to work on. It was very US. Maddy was our wedding coordinator. From the start she was very reassuring and nothing was too much. She worked super hard to make the day seamless and enjoyable for everyone! She would find us throughout the day to give us updates, such as 5 minute warnings and let us know when the evening food was put out so that we wouldn’t miss out. She was transparent and honest the whole time. And she fixed problems (mistakes we’d made) before we were even aware it had happened, so we never had to worry. Maddy and all staff were constantly very kind and pleasant to all our guests! Always with a smile. Words will never do it justice, but thank you for making our day even better than we anticipated. We will never forget how special our wedding day was.xxx
